Red Blue & White card

Hi there friends, wow how can it be Saturday yet
again? the Summer is flying by...July already!
Anyway I am here to show you my latest card for
the 'Less is More' challenge this week which is....
'Colours of Your Countries Flag.'
Here is what I came up with, after struggling to
find anything with my craft room in such a state
just now. 'Stuff' all over the floor...well you
 get the idea!
The painting is going well, should finish it soon.
I will be sooo happy then believe me lol. Ahem
and I am still buying more 'stuff' despite saying
I wouldn't do for a while (slaps wrist).

Our conservatory roof is finished at last yeaaaah!
My OH is now plastering walls and fitting shelves
as we speak. Happy days!

The new french doors and new lounge/bathroom
windows are being fitted on Tues. Then we can
relax a bit I hope!....well as soon as we get the
house straight again that is lol.
I won't mention the leaking boiler we found
in the kitchen today arghhh!
Anyway come and have a quick peek at my card
and of course enjoy your weekend whatever you
have planned. I will be mostly painting ;)

Purple & Gold

Good morning friends, it's Bonfire night tonight here
in the UK. Think I will just be keeping warm
indoors though as I have caught my dear beloved's
cold grrr!

Happy memories of previous years when our children
were small and got so excited. I would make lots of
treacle toffee .......I think they secretly still miss
that too ;)

Anywhoo back to my card, it's a colour challenge
over at 'Less is More' this time and....

PURPLE & GOLD

Oooh I am liking that colour combo very much!
My head is spinning a bit with this darn cold, sneeze,
cough, sniffle....... but after some thought
I managed to make this quick card. Come and
have a peek and see what you think ;)

Dear Chrissie over at 'LIM' is stepping down for a
while. She is so busy just now so I quite understand.
She will still be sadly missed though, sob sob ;(

The DT will do just fine I am certain, such a great
talented group of girls and Jen is back too yipee ;)

ps. Please if you have a moment, take a quick look
at my previous post for my latest DT card for
'The Flower Challenge'. It's only the 2nd challenge
but the first one proved to be so popular. I think
we all love flowers so not surprised, do join
 in if you can ;)

A very big welcome to my latest followers too!

Love

Hi friends, just popping back to show you another
quick card I made for this week's 'Less is More'

reflections!!! I will show you a quick pic of it
 below my newer card anyway!

The latest one here was quite similar but easier to
photograph thank heavens. Hmm I don't often
use acetate but have ordered more now as I
quite like it.

Still not keen on trying to photograph it though
lol! Anyway come and have a quick peek, I
am off to try and tidy my craft room now....
I am......I am.......well will make a start
 anyway :)

ps. Note to self.......STOP ordering more 'stuff',
your blogs I visit aren't helping at all I might add!!!

With Love Kraft card

Good afternoon friends, we have a lovely
warm sunny day here today, hope you have
the sun too.

Here is my 'Less is More' card for this week.
The challenge this week is to use....

'White space but not WHITE'

Had to think about that for a while, I do  like
a white card base. However after a lot of faffing
and pondering, I managed to produce this card.

Not my usual colours, a mixture of warmer
shades for a change. It will not escape your
notice that I did manage to sneak a little pink
 in there though :)

Please do come and have  a closer peek at my
card. Enjoy your Sunday and next week,
whatever  you have planned. I am hoping for
 a rest lol !

ps. Been so busy again, yesterday we packed all
our old furniture in a van and took it to auction.
Busy buying some modern (gulp) art for our walls
 now.

We managed to agree on two choices at once,
.....unheard of ! and also two watercolour bright
cushions. (Yes they did have some pink in them
lol). Just seen more bright watercolour cushions
which  matched the paintings really well. Shhh....
they will be arriving soon too he he.

Pink wire card

Good afternoon friends, I have another pink
card to share with you today. Now there's
a surprise I went for my favourite pink
 colour yet again lol.

I also added some pink wire too as over at
'Less is More' ...........

"The challenge this week is a
Recipe
and for that concoction we would like you to
 include
SOME WIRE
We realise that this is quite a tricky one, so
if there's no way you can produce a card with
actual wire on it, an image or die-cut depicting
 wire will also qualify!"

As most of you probably know I also make
'wire' jewellery so I happen to have lots of
wire in my craft room.........so happy days!

I did a bit of watercolouring, added a few
stamped hearts and a sentiment. Then I
did a bit of random wire twisting........I
went a 'loose' look...and job done.

ps. Thank you for all your good wishes I
am on the mend at last now btw! Have any
of you bought one of the small precision
tipped  bottles for decanting your glue
into?

I bought one and almost lost the will to
live trying to fill it with glue yesterday.
You would have laughed so hard if you had
seen me trying various methods !

I tried a small funnel, it kept 'glooping'
everywhere as a vacuum developed in the top
of the small bottle. In the end I used a
cocktail stick dipped it into the glue and
'dripped' it into the small bottle scraping it
down the side as I went.

Won't be doing THAT again in a hurry, I
will try and buy one ready filled ( do they
do them?) or get a top to fit the larger bottles.

Anyway come and have a peek at my card.
enjoy your weekend whatever you have
planned ;)

Faith Hope and Mad Love

Good afternoon friends, I hope you are all
having a lovely day!  Over at 'Less is More'
the challenge this week is to make a
'one layer' card and the theme is.....

'Include a Stem'

This is what I came up with, been dying to
use this new stamp for ages. Oh the shame!

Yes it has been sitting on my desk for a
while now, with others just looking at me.
I pick it up, look at it, then put it down again.
Sound familiar lol !

Anyway I decided I just MUST use it today.
So here is my card ;) I tried a few 'stampings'
which didn't look right at all......answered
a telephone call from DD.... almost burnt
the lunch too as I had lost track by now!!!

My wrist is swollen and I am having to wear
a support atm. Not easy typing or card making
 grrr!
Anyway I tried again and decided
watercolouring was the way to go. Happy
days! I used pink and purple shades on the
 flower....hard to see now though!

A quick sentiment.....well it turns out NOT
that quick as I tried several inks and
 sentiments until I was happy....and relax ;)

ps. It's our Anniversary today btw., 45 yrs.
so it's a 'Sapphire' one too. My engagement
ring is a sapphire (& diamonds). I already
have matching earrings and a necklace.

But by chance I saw this beautiful sparkly
very fitted lace 'sapphire' coloured dress.
My lovely OH bought me it...and a coat
( not matching just a fab beige raincoat I
also fell in love with.)

A whole lot of other stuff that day too, I am
so spoiled! Lots of craft 'stuff ' fell in my
 basket recently.....well you know how
THAT happens I am sure !

Not been very well recently so we are going
away later in the year to celebrate properly.
We still have a spa day from our children to
take also sometime. I am so blessed ;)

Right enough 'waffling' come and have a peek
at my card ! do enjoy your weekend whatever
you have planned ;)

With Love card

Hi there friends, I hope you are all enjoying a
lovely Easter. As it's Saturday yet again....
(where did March go to?) I am sharing my
 'Less is More' card today.

It's a colour challenge this week and......

Predominantly Black!

"Your whole card doesn't have to be all black and
you may use a little of another colour, but whatever
you add to your design, even if it's minimal, should
 be mainly black.

So think silhouettes, monochrome, ombre, chalkboard
technique... there doesn't have to be a lot of black...
if your design is minimal, it just needs to be
 the predominant colour."

This is what I came up with, come and have a
closer look.....well after reading my usual rambling
below first if you so wish ;)

ps. I am busy cooking today as we are having
the children and grandchildren over tomorrow.
I tend to cook for an army too, just cannot help
 it.

My daughter once invited other people
without telling me. She said 'Well I knew
there would be enough food....and there was lol!
Savoury quiche now in oven and about to start my
huge fresh cream triple chocolate & salted
 caramel merangue ( lots of
 small choc eggs on  top).

Already made some small choc nests with
choc eggs on. Mango salsa, jasmine rice, and
Neiman Marcus starter to do yet.
Will do the rest tomorrow, wish me luck.

Oh and I can't find a thing in my craft room
after doing  a major sort out arghhh! Ooh
and I now have my new camera lens too,
whoopee!!!!

Happy Easter my lovely friends :)

With Love card

Hi there!, very Spring like weather here today,
( well sunny but still a tad chilly yet),
................I hope you all have sun too.

Here is another 'Less is More' card I made
yesterday. Trying a bit of stencilling for a
change.

It has to be a 'one layer card' and the theme is...

LOVE

My OH made some Gesso recently so I
pinched a bit and mixed some pearlescent
pink paint with it. Here is the result ;)

I die cut the sentiment, used some M/E
Blush ink and stuck it back in the card.
The colour does match the Rose, not
 here though grrr.

Anyway come and have a closer look...........

Joy & Love cards

Hi everyone, another hot and sunny day here today again.
It's week 84 over at 'Less is More' and it's one layer card
week with the theme this time being ...............
Foliage
I made two quite different cards this time. For the first one
I  printed some foliage around the edges of the card. Then I
added a quote from Mother Teresa. For the second card
I looked for a font with some leaves and printed the word
Love. I stamped some leaves over the L and glittered the
leaves on the letter L. I thought it wasn't quite finished off
so I used my new folder to emboss all over the card for
more interest. I would also have added a lovely white silk
bow to the top part, if it was not one layer card week, so
just imagine that part please. Hmmm maybe some tiny
white pearls to the centres of the embossing too.The
second card is my  favourite I think but you choose !

Key to Love card

It's week 58 over at 'Less is More' & it's the dreaded 'one layer card' this time & also 'Script'.
Not quite as terrified as I used to be at the thought  of one layer card week... but still  a bit worried.
Does everyone else panic at  the thought of that blank card in front of them lol ?? It always surprises
me when an idea pops into my head !!!! I am glad to report one did....and quite quickly this time ,
which is always a blessing....not to mention a  relief !!!
Anyway enough of my ramblings.............I found this beautiful keys stamp ,which was a prize I won from
'Less is More' too so how appropriate I use it here :) It's part of a set (Clear Art Stamps' Keys to Life'.
I first made a computerized script in GCF, took me ages spacing it all, getting each word  to be straight
and also craning my head sideways........... as it's a tent fold card. Anyway I did all that and chose a soft
grey colour for the wording, apart from the main sentiment which I left black. Then I stamped my keys
image over the top using Momento  Tuxedo black ink ( love that ink). I used a soft grey Promarker to
shade the ribbon and keys as I wanted it to be a monochrome card. I added a little glamour dust on the
ribbons & that was it finished :) Hope you like it.

Love peace and happiness card

It's week 56 over at 'Less is More'
& here's what they want us to do.....
'This week we have a simple recipe
for you to follow which is to use some
of those left over bits and pieces we
all tend to keep so this week it's
             Don't scrap it !

I had a narrow piece of Linen card over
from the last card I used so that was my
starting point . I then looked through my
ever growing pile of spare card/paper( oh
my I have three large boxes of it now !!!).
I found this pale beige/green stripey paper
and used my (Marianne leaf die) on it. Then I
found a tiny scrap of flowered paper in
matching colours. I was so pleased at that
rarely happens I find ! I used my (Crealies
creative flowers) die to make a flower with it.
I edged the leaf and the flower with some
distress ink ( Frayed Burlap). I found some
chinese stamps I hardly ever use and stamped
Love, Peace & Happiness with them using
distress ink ( Antique Linen). A spare large
pearl I found on a  bit of paper which I
coloured to match completed the card.
It's lovely and sunny here today, I hope
everyone is enjoying the weather & has
a good weekend.
ps. No baby yet !!!!!! :(
