The Flower Challenge #17 Paper Piecing

Hi there friends, it's time for another challenge over at 'The Flower Challenge'. Here is my DT card,

this month we want to see some 'Paper Piecing'. Please make a note that is it is Paper PIECING and not Paper Piercing !....so easy to confuse the two!

Come and have a peek at my card, I hope it inspires you to take part. If you haven't tried this before, you just have to use a piece of patterned paper on part of your image. See the DT's examples if you are not sure ;)

I made an A6 top fold card base, added a smaller top piece. Then I stamped my flower and leaves and stamped my flower again onto my patterned paper. I used my flower die to cut my patterned piece. 

Then I cut my sentiment and added both to my card topper. I water coloured around my leaves  to match my flower. Then I added the topper to my card base.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge January - Guest Designer

Hi friends, just popping in today to show you a  card I made for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I am very excited to be their Guest Designer this month. It's an easy challenge this time and......   'Anything Goes'   Do come and join in if you can, & please check out all the other fab DT cards there too & leave them some  comment love.   I loosely stamped the PB stamp on watercolour card  using Distress inks. I used a waterbrush to blend the  colours and added more here and there.     I used some of the green colour and lots of water  for a pale background. The die cut was cut using  some silver sparkly card and then I added it and  a sprinkling of sequins to my card.       Thanks for looking, back soon with more cards  to share ! Autumn Colours

Hi friends just popping by with another card. Hope your Sunday is going well ;)     I was inspired to make this card seeing all the lovely Autumnal colours around just now. Also I seem to have flowers on my mind too after joining the DT over at 'The Flower Challenge'.     We are all just amazed how many entries we have  had for our first challenge. So many beautiful cards.  Winners etc. announced very soon !     Anyway back to my card, more watercolouring once again. Also another CAS card too. Enjoy your weekend ;)

Blue Flower card

I seem to be in a 'blue' faze atm. lol.     Just had to make a card with this yummy  new stamp ! I bought this particular set because  of this flower alone...how many of us do  that ?

Magnolia card

Hydrangea card and another sea horse!

Good afternoon friends, phew it's another very hot day here again. Not that I am complaining !     I have been busy trying to keep cool in my  craft room today. I finally made this card, lots of 'faffing'  about  too but it did get finished after  several hours lol.

Over at 'Less is More' it's a recipe this time  and...     'Use Something Tactile'

As soon as I saw this stamp I just HAD to get it......well you all know that feeling I am  sure ! I added a few extra flowers on top for a bit of tactile....ness, I know that isn't a word, but it sounds right to me ;)

I edged the top flowers with embossing powder, then added yet more texture with a  different embossing powder in the middle. So lots of tactile...ness..I hope ;)

Pink Flower card

Hi friends, here I am again with another 'Less is More' card. It's 'one layer' card week once more and the theme is....     Splatters       Been so busy cooking today and blowing  up balloons etc. etc. for our granddaughter's  ( 1st) and daughter's birthday celebrations  tomorrow. 

 I managed to sneak off into my craft room and make a quick card. Come and have a  peek ;) I will show you the one I did  for Amelia too.

ps. There is always a ps. ....I know.....I know!!! choc trifle looking good and.... just made these amazing delicious mini savoury scones. The cheesy smell is to die for believe me!   I will split them and spread herby cheese on top btw. Will definately make double the amount next time.
Now do I eat some or leave them all for everyone tomorrow...hmmm ;)

Purple Delphinium card

Good afternoon friends, glad to report it's a bit warmer today. Hoping Summer has returned at last!     Here is my usual 'Less is More' card, it's a colour theme this week and......     PURPLE     As purple is one of my favourite colours, (along with blues and pinks) I was very  happy. I went for a watercolour look once again.

As I couldn't find the right stamp, I decided to be brave and just paint my own flower. I think we should all be brave and just 'go for it' sometimes, don't you agree?

I loosely....very loosely lol painted a Delphinium type flower. I added a few dots and strokes and job done ;)     Enjoy your weekend whatever you  have planned ;)

ps. I am still trying to catch up with jobs since being away. Plants to sort, floors to wash, just had to make my LIM card first today though ;) Now to do that and bake a rhubarb  crumble too.

Busy next weekend as it's our granddaughter's 1st birthday (how time  has flown) and also our daughter's birthday  the day before.     So I am planning a big family party, I have a super choc cherry trifle planned and also a cake of course ;)

Good evening friends, it's been such a lovely hot day here today. Hope you all have the good weather too!     Just had time to finish my latest 'Less is More' challenge card tonight. It's a 'Colour' challenge this week and ...     Pastel Colours     I just love using pastel shades so an easy  one for me this time. Good afternoon friends, I hope all is well  with you. Sunny here atm. but showers keep appearing too.     Today I have another 'Less is More'  card to share with you again. The challenge this week is....     'White space but not WHITE'     I hope this is ok for LIM, if not please delete my entry. I went with a blue/purple watercolour background and a simple  flower and sentiment.     Anyway I did have fun making this one. I had an idea in my mind and finally got to make the card today after another  hectic week. See you soon ;)     ps. I may even frame this one as it exactly matches  our new watercolour look cushions and bright painting ;)

The tiny dots are silver, nice and shiny irl too.

Gentle Whisper...

Good afternoon friends, we had snow today, just a sprinkling and gone now I am glad to say. Hope all is well with you!     Just popping by to show you another card, more watercolouring again....what can I say.... I am hooked now ;)


It's supposed to be orchids in case you were wondering....and you were wondering I am sure ! A very LOOSE watercolour image...but I quite like a loosey goosey  watery look.

Another NBUS stamp here...oh the shame!! More new stamps AGAIN!......I just loved  these yummy sentiments as soon as I saw them  and they just  fell into my basket...ahem.... as stamps do. Sorry if you are now forced to get  them also.        That's the trouble with blogging isn't it, you  see so many nice 'things' you need! Anyway come and have a closer peek at my card. Faith Hope and Mad Love

Good afternoon friends, I hope you are all having a lovely day!  Over at 'Less is More' the challenge this week is to make a 'one layer' card and the theme is.....     'Include a Stem'     This is what I came up with, been dying to use this new stamp for ages. Oh the shame!     Yes it has been sitting on my desk for a  while now, with others just looking at me.  I pick it up, look at it, then put it down again.  Sound familiar lol !     Anyway I decided I just MUST use it today. So here is my card ;) I tried a few 'stampings' which didn't look right at all......answered a telephone call from DD.... almost burnt  the lunch too as I had lost track by now!!!

My wrist is swollen and I am having to wear  a support atm. Not easy typing or card making  grrr! Anyway I tried again and decided  watercolouring was the way to go. Happy  days! I used pink and purple shades on the  flower....hard to see now though!

A quick sentiment.....well it turns out NOT  that quick as I tried several inks and  sentiments until I was happy....and relax ;)

ps. It's our Anniversary today btw., 45 yrs. so it's a 'Sapphire' one too. My engagement  ring is a sapphire (& diamonds). I already have matching earrings and a necklace.  
But by chance I saw this beautiful sparkly very fitted lace 'sapphire' coloured dress. My lovely OH bought me it...and a coat ( not matching just a fab beige raincoat I also fell in love with.)      A whole lot of other stuff that day too, I am so spoiled! Lots of craft 'stuff ' fell in my  basket recently.....well you know how  THAT happens I am sure !


Not been very well recently so we are going  away later in the year to celebrate properly. We still have a spa day from our children to take also sometime. I am so blessed ;)
