Green Spotty card

Hi friends, I hope you are all enjoying a
very Happy Easter. It was bright and
sunny here yesterday, just right for our
Easter egg hunt! See pic of our
 granddaughter hunting for eggs below
my card ;)

I am popping in to show you my latest
card for this week's 'Less is More'
challenge. It's a recipe this time and

POLKA DOTS

This is what I came up with, green for
a change too. I used the cut out bits from
the die to make ears, eyes and a smile.
I was kinda thinking of an Easter bunny
....or maybe not lol.

Anyway come and have a closer look ;)
ps.I really love polka dots, infact I have
just bought some yummy powder blue
chair cushions with white polka dots
on. Yes blue and not PINK.... I know
...........you will be shocked!

They are for our new wooden chairs
we aquired cheaply from our new
neighbours. I managed to get a
matching oil cloth for the pedestal
table (also from our neighbours) and
spotty cushions for our blue leather
sofa too.So lucky to get matching stuff
from different sellers.

They all look so lovely in our back
sunlounge. The grandchildren have
already made use of the table for
games and making 'stuff' so it was
 a great buy ;)

Enjoy what's left of the Easter holidays,
very cold and windy here today!

Green, spots, smile, CAS
Lana did have some eggs in there.......I promise!

Pleated Skirt fold card

Good afternoon my lovelies, I hope your
Thursday is going well. I am just popping
by to show you a card I made yesterday.

I decided to go for something different this
time, so fancy fold it is ! It's called a
'Pleated Skirt fold', new to me anyway.

You are supposed to use double sided paper,
.......well I haven't got any so I improvised.
I used some lilac card I had printed out
a while ago. It has a slight pattern...it may
be a PP one?

Then I found this pretty flower paper I
had printed out ages ago. I am fairly
certain it's one I made myself a long
time ago.

I made so many at one time but seem to
have no time to make them now. Besides
I rarely use papers as I mostly make
CAS cards as you have probably
 noticed lol.

Anyway I made the fold, added a bit of
stamping and a sentiment using a die, to the
card base. A bit of pretty matching ribbon,
a few gems and job done !

If you want to see the tutorial for the fold,
see HERE . Add it to their gallery too
if you make a card. Have a good evening, the
weekend is just around the corner  :)

Smile

Good afternoon friends, I have another
card to share with you again today.

I went for a black and gold combo
this time. I stamped the gold
ink then overstamped it again to
 give it a softer edge.

Then I stamped the leaves in black.
I love the 'juiciness' of this ink. I
tend to use it if I want a really 'black'
 image.

I use my Memento black ink mainly for
 sentiments or other images where
I don't want too much ink.

For the white sentiment, I cut several
layers and glued them together. I added
a few black and gold gems to finish
the card.

I noticed the gold shows a bit over the
black ink for some reason. No idea
 why that is!

Enjoy your day, I will be back with
 another card very soon ;)

ps. My DIL sent me this photo
 (see below card) of our
granddaughter enjoying some painting.
She seems very enthusiastic doesn't
she lol.

Purple and Yellow card

Good afternoon friends, I hope you are all
enjoying your weekend. As it's Saturday I
have another 'Less is More' card to show
you.

It's a colour challenge this week and...

"Use opposite colours on the wheel "

"The  two chosen colours should predominate
and any additional shades should be minimal
and limited to neutral colours only."

I decided on using purple and yellow. Not
two colours I would normally use together
but I think it works. Just to add I have added
a clear gem to that bottom flower now !

 Have a great weekend,
we are having all our family here tomorrow
so off to do preparations now ;)

ps. Congratulations to William and Kate on the birth
of their new baby girl this morning too! can't wait for
our latest granddaughter to arrive now....just 6 weeks
to go ;)

Just keep swimming.....

Hi everyone, here is my latest ‘Less is More’ card.
The theme this week is.....

"Makes me smile!
It's simply that... something that makes you smile.
It could be something cute, pretty, humorous, or merely a technique
which satisfies you and makes you pleased with your finished article.
SO... lots of scope, but we'd like you to tell us
 the reason for your choice!"

Wow what a fabulous challenge, I hope you
will all join in this week too (smiles).

I used this cute freebie digi image from TAWS,
Sorry just cannot think what TAWS stands for my
brain isn’t in gear today I fear. Blogger is playing up
too and I have had to rewrite this three times already
grrrrrrrrr!!!!

Now adding the freebie stamp is from
‘The Alley Way Stamps’ TAWS.

Anyway these cute fishes just make me smile every time
I look at them. Hope they give you a smile today too :)
The sentiment says ‘Just keep swimming’..... I think it’s
very apt for a lot of us isn’t it.

A very Happy Easter to you all !
I have just started eating my yummy Easter egg
so diet out of the window for this week I fear lol.

A big welcome to my three latest followers also, welcome aboard.

Swimming, CAS, fish, distress inks

Ps. Sorry I am late this week with my LIM card
but we had our son and his gorgeous babies over
yesterday and I spent most of it cuddling my
beautiful granddaughter Lana...happy days !

I made some homemade bread and soup and they
all said it was the best they had ever tasted. Roasted
red onion and balsamic vinegar bread, I threw lots of seeds
and parmesan cheese in.

The soup was ‘Lentil and coconut’ I used some coconut oil
(expensive but worth it), lemongrass, fresh lemon and lots
of yummy spices. Recipe HERE
