A candle, a tray and lots of shabby chic!

Good afternoon friends, I trust all is well
with you today ? I am feeling much better
too btw. thank you for all the good wishes ;)

I have been busy doing lots of decoupage
lately, thought you may want a look.
Not on a card but on wood! I seem to be
in a shabby chic mood lately too.

Anyway come and have a look.... I asked
my lovely uber talented OH to make me a
fat candle holder out of wood. He said he
would make me a candle in wood too ;)
Warning....photo heavy!!!

I decided to do some decoupage on them
as you can see. Can you see a tray and a
placemat/large coaster too...yep he made
those too!

What got me started were the cream table
and chairs we bought from our neighbour.
Then I needed chair cushions and a table
cloth! I went with blue and spotty...yes
I know 'what no pink' you ask!!!

So I bought these ...all matching and
all from different sellers too...result!

Then I got these cushions to match for our sofa,
I added the roses ones later after I did all the roses
decoupage!

Our sofa is blue hence the blue spottiness theme!
My lovely OH kindly made me this tray and I
tried my first bit of decoupage....hmm don't look
too closely ;) Then I spied some tablemats/coasters
he had made and decided to...ahem... pinch them. I
 decoupaged those too!

Oops... I left my camera lens on the table!!!!

Here is a closeup of the tray...not great...but a first attempt
....make allowances please ;)

Here are all the mats finished!......they had large letters
on at first. My OH thought our grandchildren may like
to play with them and learn their alphabet at the same
time. Alas it was a lot of hard work so he gave up after
the first few letters. Anyway now they are reborn as
table mats...or large  coasters ;)

Here they are all together! These are in our large back
sunlounge btw. hence my OH making me a wooden
candle instead of  me using a real one......the real
ones melt as it gets so hot in there in the Summer.

Right that is all for now, we got rid of our brown
leather sofa and chair today to  a charity. We
are expecting our new  corner sofa tomorrow
...at long last....9 weeks wait! So exciting!!
We are sitting on an old chair and my computer
chair tonight in our lounge. Hope our new stuff
arrives tomorrow!!!!!

ps. A big welcome to my latest follower Miranda
too. Welcome aboard and thanks for choosing me
 to follow :)

Another card soon.......and it's a shabby chic one
...and NOT CAS...shock horror !!!!

Daffodils in a teapot card

Here is another DT card made for 'Beccy's Place' again.
Who says daffodils have to be yellow lol ! I am back to
pink again,.... knew my papaya/peach phase wouldn't last.
I used this gorgeous digi image from Beccy called
'Daffodils in a teapot'. It's such a lovely image, it reminds
me of a  country cottage where this jug of daffs would be
sitting on a  pretty wooden shelf in a window.I coloured the
image using Copics and Promarkers then softly chalked the
background.I added a strip of card behind which I embossed
with my roses folder then softly chalked the roses & leaves too.
Computerized sentiment again softly chalked in pink. I cut the main
card shape using my Nesties ( Curved Rectangles). My craft room
is awash with 'stuff ' today. I had to make a card for a
neighbour yesterday which had to be posted today. I never get
much notice making cards for her. It had to be special  one ,
 for a 50th Anniversary, for a lovely couple too so I hear.Wow 50 years!!
I think she liked what I came up with though which
is the main thing.I will post that card another time, enough to say I
went with simple and classy in the end.Lovely hot weather
here today, I am boiling, 24 C but very humid too, not that I am
complaining !!!! have a great day everyone.
ps. There is always a ps. these days lol. I am now making another
DT card/cards for Beccy and this  new set of flowers/sentiments are amazing.
Can't wait to show you my cards. These will be so handy for so
 many occasions too.

Shabby chic birdhouse card & some freebies !

Here is another DT card  made for 'Beccy's Place' using Beccy's
'Shabby chic birdhouse' digi image available HERE.
I used some lovely snow white Linen card I bought ages ago.
It's whiter than my usual Linen card & the grain is more raised.
I made an A5 card for a change & a different fold also. The front
part is folded back on itself, I am sure you have all seen one
before though lol. I coloured the image with various Promarkers,
I will list then later...all will become clear why soon. I made an
orange matt behind the main image. The sentiment is computer
generated, I went with a new home theme. I decided
( with Beccy's permission) to make matching backing
papers etc. for this image. You can see
a bit of it on this card I hope.Anyway I will post them after
the card here so you can use them if you wish. I decoupaged one
of the roses & also made a matching matt to the sentiment too.
Beccy always makes a black & white line drawing & a coloured
image to match if you buy one of her super digi images. So if you
use her black & white image here you can colour it to match
my freebie papers. For your info I used the following Promarker
colours. Sandstone & Cinnamon for the house, Pumpkin & Canary
for the roses. Meadow green & leaf green for the leaves.
Sandstone for the matt below the label, I printed the
sentiment in a rich brown colour . I hope you like the idea
of matching background papers/vellums/inserts. If you do
I will be making more :)
Another big welcome to my latest followers, welcome aboard.

ps. Forgot to say, I will be posting several freebie papers to match
Beccy's coloured Bird house image tomorrow .Don't forget to check
out her June challenge HERE for a chance to win some
of her lovely digi images or maybe get to be her next guest designer.
