RVD Poinsettia

Hi there crafty friends, I am back to share  more DT crafts using RachelVassDesigns latest release for December. There are five designs this month and I will share them each week.

So todays digi is called 'Poinsettia', it's just fabulous too! I had such fun using it, so easy to colour, and in the end I made several things. So with the first one I am sharing today, I made a card and I also made tags too (see below). Later on I designed a shutter card, but will share that another time!

There is also a give away, I designed the tags using Rachel's Poinsettia image and also some older digi images of Rachel's too. I thought I would use them as a give away. Handy for Xmas or with a winter treat for someone, I used a Poinsettia plant for mine. The Poinsettia ones say Happy Winter btw. See them all on Rachel's Etsy shop.

The other tags could be great to use for any occasion as they have different sentiments on them, With Love, Just for You and to a  Special Someone.

So if you buy any of the new release you will get the three A4 pages of tags as a freebie PDF, see all three colours below. Also all details of the Poinsettia digi are at the bottom.

Hope you like them all, back with more cards very soon. You can see all of the latest digi's in Rachel's Etsy shop link HERE

There is also 20% off atm too, so be quick!

Okay come and see what I made, and enjoy your week whatever you have planned ;)

I used water colour to colour my flowers.

Small scale projects

Hi everyone, here is my third post as Guest Designer for
'The Craft Barn'. The theme this week is 'Small scale'. So
I made small cards ( 9 1/2cm x 9cm) with tiny butterflies on,
also matching little tags and  bookmarks also. I used a citrus
colour theme this time, nice and Spring like I thought ! Anyway
come and have a closer look................
See below for special offer details at 'The Craft Barn'
Special offer for this weekend is 10% off Shrink Plastic
Just enter SHRINK10 at checkout

Here they are all together.

I used the waste card etc. to cover this cocktail box also.

Card, Tag, Bookmark Recipes

Cards
I first made three white card blanks using some texurized card
to measure 9 1/2 cm x 9 cm and used them tent fold. I stamped a
large butterfly on a matching piece of card ( approx 7 cm x 6 cm).
I love how the stamp has writing on to add a bit of interest
too. I used a Memory Box die to cut some tiny butterflies. I
stuck four of the largest butterflies to the body of the large butterfly
stamped earlier. I added two smaller butterflies to the middle
of the other four. The last butterfly I coloured to match the large
butterfly and stuck that one to the centre of the large butterfly
stamp. I added a clear gem ( coloured to match using a
Promarker pen),..... handy tip. I used small 3d pads to stick the
butterfly topper to the main card. I used three nice bright
Spring coloured inks to make three matching little cards.
I am so temped to make three more now....blue...pink.... lilac !

I first printed a few sentiments onto some white texturized card.
I then cut it to (8 cm x 2 cm) and used a corner rounder to round
off the edges. I sponged some ink to add a bit of distressing
to the edges. I punched a small hole for the ribbon and stuck a tiny
butterfly to the tag ( after first colouring using more  ink to match).
I coloured some narrow satin ribbon ( using same method as  when
colouring the gem) and added that to the tag. I made three tiny
tags in all to match the cards.
Bookmarks
I used three of the smaller butterfly stamps ( from same set as
the large one used earlier) to stamp on to a piece of white
card (13 cm x 4 cm.)  I stamped a sentiment from the same butterfly
set also. I rounded the corners again then inked the edges.
I punched a hole and added some matching ribbon ,( coloured to match) .

I like the fact that you can have a card, a matching tag for a
gift and even a bookmark as the gift itself maybe :)

Two shabby chic tags & some flowers

Hi everyone, hope you are all getting this lovely
hot sunny weather we have today. In between
catching some rays I decided to make a couple
of tags. Not made these before, I decided on a
shabby chic theme. I have been busy making more
flowers too, still can't get them how I want them
but will keep on trying ! I used a hot glue gun today,
for the ribbon ones, burnt myself a tad.I also dropped
very hot water ( only a few drops from a pan lid) on
my foot and on my chest ( separate accidents)...... & also
on my arm. Didn't really last however I put arnica on and
I am fine now, talk about accident prone though lol !
ps. The pearls are real in the pics....my Pearl Anniversary
pressie from several years ago :)
Forgot to say my eldest son did ok in the London to Camb bike
 race today , 60 miles  in 3 hrs .!
