One Layer Spots card

Hi there friends, it's Saturday again and I am here to share another 'Less is More' card. It's the dreaded 'One Layer' card this time and 'Spots'. I am still not keen on one layer cards but hey ho, this is what I came up with.

 

I see my lovely DT buddy Maria from 'The Flower Challenge' is guesting over at 'LIM' this time too. She made a super card, do check out her blog also, she makes such beautiful cards!

 

I have an early birthday present too, (it's not until August !) and I am sure I will find a few more things by then lol. Anyway I suggested getting this as an early birthday present and it went down well with my OH as he never knows what to buy me ;) 

 

I took my camera in to be fixed as the photo's were just too bright when I tried to take a photo. It took the young man about a minute to tell me I had altered the setting and had it set too high...cue red face he he. I had messed with that setting too (the little plus/minus thing) thinking it might be that and still couldn't figure it out ....(she quickly said in her defence!).

Whilst I was there I looked at their tripods (as you do) and chose one I liked...so win win really ! My old one was inherited and very very old. Now I can add my camera and release it very easily without peering into the bottom of the camera to look where the screw hole is everytime! the plate doesn't tilt/move around when I don't want it too and it's also much lighter.

 

It's a Calumet 7300 btw. for anyone interested. I am using already it...well I wasn't going to wait until August now was I lol ;) Right must dash as I have a victoria sponge cooking in my oven...can you smell it?...ooh that yummy vanilla smell is to die for!

Bud flower card

Hi there friends, I am back with my usual card for the 'Less is More' challenge again. This time it's
'Buds or Petals' and the dreaded 'one layer' card too.

I am still not keen on one layer cards, still I had a go and despite all my early panicking managed to come up with this card. It is CAS anyway at least ;) I glittered the little heart btw. and added some kisses using a black pen.

The Flower Challenge '#23 Reminder'

Hi there friends, it's Reminder time over at 'The Flower Challenge' again ! Our theme is 'One layer card' this month, we do hope you can join in.

 

A 'one layer' card is defined as 'a piece of card folded in two, no other layers allowed'. If in doubt see examples on our blog. Please remember to use flowers as your main image also and only 6 other challenges are allowed as well as our own.

 

Some beautiful cards made by our DT again and we also have a talented Guest Designer Milla too. Do try and check out our gallery and also leave a few comments if possible for our amazing DT and GD also ;)

I made an A6 tent fold card base, then stamped my flower images masking the centre portion.

Then I stamped my sentiment and coloured the flowers. I then blended some chalks softly around the flower images.

 I made an A6 tent fold card base and then stamped my flower bg image. I then embossed two lines to the left of centre on my card. I partially coloured some of the flowers in pink and peach colours.

The Flower Challenge #23 One Layer card

Hi there friends, it's time for our August challenge over at 'The Flower Challenge'. This month we want to see 'One Layer cards'. 

The DT have come up with some amazing creations, so do pop over and take a look. We also have the very talented Milla joining us as Guest Designer this month too. Do visit her blog (some super cards there) and leave her a comment or two...and the rest of the DT of course ;)

Anyway come and see my card and I hope it inspires you to take part this month ;) Trying out some new card someone suggested and I am not disappointed either. Nice and white and I was able to use water colouring with it also. Happy days!

I just HAD to buy these stamps as soon as I saw them,....aren't they just divine!!... yikes I keep on buying stamps despite trying not too!!!

 I made an A6 tent fold card base and stamped my flowers and sentiment. Then I used my DI's and coloured in my flowers. A quick loose wash using the same colours around my flowers at the top part and job done!

 My favourite colours again too...sorry but I do love those colours ;)

Hi there friends , hope your weekend is going well so far? I am back from a few days in the Lake District, so relaxing, lots of walking, the weather was good too! I will include a pic or two lower down if you are nosey ;)

Oh Happy Day!

Good afternoon friends, I hope your weekend is going well so far? I have my usual 'Less is More' card to share with you today. It's the dreaded 'One layer' card challenge again and 'Cute'.

Luckily I had just bought these super cute ellies!......as soon as I saw them they jumped into my basket and I was at the checkout before I knew it. Does that happen  to you too? It happens to me a lot lately.......you have no choice but to go along with it! But enough about my stamp addiction buying of stamps, you are here to see my card.

Come and have a quick peek, I added a few sneaky sequins ..........just because I HAD to,(hope I am forgiven...they are teensy tiny!) I find one layer cards challenge me still. That's my only excuse I'm afraid....well that and the fact I do love a nice sequin ;)

It's our youngest granddaughter's 2nd birthday on Monday so we are  celebrating that ;)   ps.Adding a quick photo I took of Amelia last week. She isn't keen on flies lol! I Adore You card

Hi friends, hope your Sunday is going well so far. aren't the days rushing past in a blur....or is it just me?     I see Christmas is creeping nearer and nearer  too. I have most things done now I think......but that's  when you start to panic and remember 'stuff' lol !     Our tree is up and most dec's now, pressies wrapped  and cards written .....and relax.

Anyway I am here to show you a quick card I made for the 'Less is More' challenge this week. It's a theme and this time it's a 'One Layer' card and.....

'Outlines'

Hmm wasn't sure what to do for this one to be honest. Then I thought .....hmm do some stencilling just  showing some of the outlines of a bit of the swirliness. Not too much detail.....well that's what I went with  anyway lol.

I have another idea in the pipeline, if I can finish it in between Xmas 'stuff' and babysitting duties!

Wonderful Time card and another sea horse!

Good afternoon friends, how are we all today? feeling good I hope ;)
I have my second card for 'Less is More' to share with you today. Remember it has to be a 'one layer' card and the theme is 'Time'.

Do try and join in, some lovely cards there  already, do pop in and have a peek if you  have a moment.

I also painted another sea horse, look below  my card if you care to ;) I have decided the first one (see previous post) is a bad  tempered pregnant female lol. This one is her long suffering husband he he. Look out for junior soon !

Right back to my 'LIM' card, sorry to  make this a long post but I will also include  details of how I made it. After a few people were asking me questions (and as I don't do  video....sorry just not got a clue about that  lol ).   For this card I used smooth white card  and  stamped the circles using a My Favourite Things  stamp 'Party Patterns'. I used Hero Arts  shadow ink in Soft Sky and Soft Vanilla.       I then added my sentiment using Clearly  Besotted 'Most Wonderful'. I used my  Versafine Onyx Black ink. 

I added a few sparkly dots using my quickie glue pen and some glamour dust. I finished it off using my permanent black  pen to add a few strokes. I was thinking 'fireworks' and New Year maybe ??      Anyhoo come and have a quick look at  my makes ;)

ps. sorry there is often a ps......my lovely OH is making art clay atm. (amongst other things...he  is very crafty too) and getting me to save  used  tea bags .....for soil to go with his fairy cottages  I think he he ! the first one is  almost finished,  I am soo excited...pics soon!
