Twofer cards 'Feathers'

Hi there, just stopping by to show you a couple of cards I made for Darnell's new Twofer Challenge.
I wish Dee lots of luck with her new challenge, although with her amazing DT I am sure it will be a big success ;) The idea is to use the same stamp /die on two different type of cards, how clever is that! I went with a die cut feather and made a Sympathy card and also a Birthday card.

I tend not to use black or grey on my Sympathy cards as I think they are just too depressing for the recipient. I may be wrong but that's my take on it! So I used blue and silver on mine, still keeping it very simple. I was tempted to use a white feather but in the end went for silver. It's all about celebrating a life I think.....well I like to think it is.

For my second card I made a  Birthday card. I used lots of colour and a touch of sparkle above the sentiment and also a few sequins too. Come and have a closer look and see what you think.......

Feather

White Linen card
White Bristol Board
TH Distress oxide inks
Poppy Stamps 'Fluffy Feather' die

Pink card
Clearly Besotted sentiment stamp
Neat & Tangled Clear sequins
Hobbycraft Glitter Galore washi tape
MFT Black Licorice ink
Ranger Perfect pearls

Blue card
Silver card from stash
AltEnew sentiment Painted greetings
AltEnew Clear embossing ink
Wow Silver embossing powder

After blending the Oxide inks I splashed some Perfect pearls
mixed with water on top for shine. Believe it or not the washi
tape does match the ink splashes on the sentiment grrr light
 issues again...sorry!

Feather card

Hi there friends, I have another card to share with you again. It's time for the latest 'Less is More' challenge once more. This week their theme is Birds/Feathers, I went with a feather.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned ;)

LIM, CAS, Feather, Distress inks

White Linen card
TH Distress inks
Poppy Stamps Feather die
AltENew Beautiful Quotes sentiment stamp
Versafine Onyx black ink

I went with a watery splashy look on the feather and also on the card too.

Almost forgot to take a pic of our granddaughter's card,
here's a very quick one before I posted it. Can't believe she
 is 4 already!

Some 'Fat Rascals' type scones I made recently, I am calling them
'Cheeky Rascals' now as the name is copyrighted I hear! They smell and taste
divine though and my family love them.....new family favourite ;)

Ok so now to my very exciting news!!! I
have been asked by the lovely Aileen
to join her Design team. She is starting
a brand new challenge blog all about using
Flowers.

I started off just helping her with a new header
for it etc. Then I got more and more involved and
when she asked me to join her team I just
couldn't say no!

I adore using flowers and I am sure the  challenge
blog will be a big hit. I have been asked to join a few
challenges but always turned them down until
now. I have a feeling this one will be special ;)

It starts on the 4th October, so go check it out to
see what it's all about. (Link Below) I do hope you will
all join in and I think you will be blown away
by the cards the DT have made when you see
 them all ;)

Feather card

Good morning friends/bloggers, I hope you are all
keeping well. Another Saturday again, the time certainly
 flies.

I hope everyone is battening down the hatches for
the very stormy weather we are expecting on Monday
here in the UK.

This week over at  'Less is More' the recipe is.....

String or Twine

I decided to use some of my Kraft card I have had for a
while but still not used !

Memory Box feather and some TH white twine.
Hobby Arts sentiment.

I had to risk stamping it twice as it didn't work too
well first time. Luckily I got away with it lol.
Have a lovely weekend whatever you have planned :)

ps.Update... Sorry the feather die is a Poppy Stamps one !
