The Flower Challenge #85 Reminder

Hi there friends, well it seems these are my final DT Reminder cards for our challenge over at 'The Flower Challenge'.
I decided to make two cards again, both very similar to my last two cards ;)

I hope you have enjoyed all the challenges over the last 7 years, I certainly have and I am sure Aileen and all the Design Team have also.  I hope you will continue entering our challenges and supporting Karren as she takes over running our fabulous challenge. I know it's in very good hands!
A very big thank you to the lovely Aileen and all our amazing Design Team for the last 7 years....I love you all very much!

The Flower Challenge #42 Reminder

Hi there friends, I am back with another DT reminder card for 'The Flower Challenge' again. This month it's back to an easy challenge and 'Anything Goes', (as long as you use your florals as the main image of course'.

Rachel Vass from RachelVassDesigns my FC team mate is sponsoring us and she also gave all of the DT some of her beautiful floral digi images to use on our cards. Our Guest Designer is Joe S. See our blog for all details.

Okay here is my card, I used Rachel's 'Ruffled Peony' for this card, come and have a peek below ;)

I made a grey card base then printed Rachel's digi image and sentiment onto some white card. I used my TH Distress inks to colour my images. A few flicks of paint and a few dewdrops and my card was complete.

 

The Flower Challenge #36 Reminder

Hi there, I am back with reminder cards for 'The Flower Challenge'. It's 'Anything Goes' this month and MFT are our sponsors with prizes for TWO of our winners this month. MFT also kindly offered our team stamps too.

Once I had made my card I saw these pretty flower stamps and the frame dies. Just had to have them of course and decided to make another extra card to share ;)

The talented Michele Ferguson is our Guest Designer (do check out her amazing blog if you haven't already), she has made another beautiful card for your inspiration again....do try and take part, you may even win a prize ;)

I first made my top fold card base then cut a topper from watercolour card. I stamped and embossed my large flower and then watercoloured it all. I used the same colours for the background adding splashes of water as I did it.

Then I cut my sentiment from the centre of the flower and a layer of white foam also. I glued my sentiment layers together and attached them to where I had first cut my sentiment. A sprinkling of sequins and my card was complete.

I made my A6 card base as usual, then using my stencil I blended my ink onto my card base.

Then I stamped two of my flowers in the grey ink and then over the top used three more flowers and stamping in black. I cut my frame and stamped two more flowers in black on it over a spare bit of card.

I just wanted the edges of the flowers this time on the frame so discarded the rest. I matched up the frame to my previously stamped flowers on the card and used 3d pads to raise it up a little on the card.

The sentiment was stamped onto a spare piece of vellum and attached to my card cutting a fish tail edge for interest. A few matching sequins and my card was complete.

The Flower Challenge #36 'Anything Goes'

Hi there friends, I am back to share my latest card for 'The Flower Challenge'. It's an easy one yet again and 'Anything Goes'. 

We have not one but TWO PRIZES to give away this month to two of our lucky winners. The amazing 'My Favorite Things' company have kindly agreed to sponsor us and we are lucky that Michele Ferguson is our Guest Designer too.

I love MFT  craft products and of course I am sure you all know the amazing Michele Ferguson also. She leaves so many lovely comments on blogs and is a great card maker too. See her beautiful GD card  and do try and visit her blog if you haven't already and leave her some comment love ;)...also see my teamies cards too as they are amazing !

Anyway back to my card, MFT were very kind and offered to send our DT some of their products to use on our cards. I used this beautiful flower stamp of theirs, isn't it fabulous...swoons!...all details below my card.

I made my top fold card base then cut a water colour card topper slightly smaller. Then I stamped my flower using clear embossing ink and heat embossed in silver. After that I did a loose water coloring all over my card. I used various colours for a multi colour look ;)

I cut my sentiment in silver card to match my silver embossing, it looks so sparkly irl. I attached the topper and my sentiment to my card base and my card was complete.

The Flower Challenge #30 Reminder

Hi there friends, I am back with another reminder card for 'The Flower Challenge' again. It's an easy one and 'Anything Goes', so no excuse for not taking part ;)

This time I decided to do a spot of hand drawing and water colouring. I went for a loose sweet pea flowers look. I quite enjoyed it really, but you have to be in the right mood to draw I find lol.

 The background looks more like in real life here.  

I just drew the sweet peas and loosely watercoloured them, then I gave the background a  nice greeny wash. Then I die cut the edges and  added the stamped sentiment, a few sequins and job done.

The Flower Challenge #30 'Anything Goes'

Hi there friends, Wow it's March already....how did that happen? So love Springtime .... I hope your weather is behaving itself too.

Anyway I am here to share another flowery card and it's 'Anything Goes' over at 'The Flower Challenge' this month. So an easy peasy one again ;)

I decided to use an old technique I don't use often enough these days and that's the 'Faux Letterpress' technique'....or the Belleek technique as I have known it called.

I just love the look it gives too, I used this newish embossing folder as it's a deep one and shows off this technique quite well I think. See HERE for details of how to do the 'Faux Letterpress' technique.

(This TH embossing folder gives a really deep impression too, great with this particular technique!)

After making my card base I cut another top layer for my card. I inked up the flat side of my E/F and added my card topper and then ran it through my machine. Then I used my die cut sentiment and cut three layers and stuck them together. I added it all to my card base and my card was complete.

The Flower Challenge #24 Anything Goes

Hi there friends, our long hot Summer has come to an end now (boo hoo) and we are into Autumn again. Just hoping for a nice long warmish Autumn now ;)

I am here to share my latest DT card for the September challenge over at 'The Flower Challenge'. It's an easy one this time and 'Anything Goes', we have more surprises there too. The very talented crafter Milla after being our Guest Designer last month has agreed to join our happy little team, we are so excited!

Anyway here is my card, it's my first time playing with the alcohol inks which have been sitting on my desk for weeks now! I am quite liking them too, so look out for more soon ;)

I made an A6 tent fold card base then attached my top panel after making a background using my alcohol inks and some blending solution. I used a straw to move the colour around also. Then I die cut my roses and leaves and coloured them with my Distress inks.

I added some sparkle then layered them on my card topper. I heat embossed my sentiment onto some black card then attached that also. A sprinkling of sequins and it was complete.

The Flower Challenge #18 Reminder

Hi again, it's reminder card time again over at 'The Flower Challenge'. I have two DT cards to share with you today. Our theme is 'Anything Goes' this month and we have a sponsor Eunji Jung from DotBStamp who is giving away two of her latest floral digital stamps to our winner.

I printed my digital images straight to my card , leaving some parts

 'over the edge'.

I also printed my sentiment in a nice scripty font (I am obsessed with
 fonts btw....you probably know that already though!) 

I then coloured my images in a loose watercolour style and my card
 was complete.

I printed my image straight to my card, then I printed another image
on a spare piece of card.
I then coloured all my flowers and leaves and fussy cut one of my flowers
 and added it to my first image.
A touch of diamond dust for sparkle and my card was complete.

The Flower Challenge #18 'Anything Goes'

Hi friends, it's time for another challenge over at 'The Flower Challenge'. This month it's an easy one again and 'Anything Goes'.

The sentiments were added using fonts I have (I am a fontoholic!). They are paid for ones I use mostly and I use the Stylistic Alternates and Swashes to get the script look. The Gabriola one on the last card is free , but I added the 'swirly' bits using a programme I have.

I first printed my digital stamp direct to my card. Then I printed another to a spare piece of card.

I also printed my sentiment to the top part of my card in a lovely scripty font I have.

I coloured all my flowers and leaves and then fussy cut a few and attached them using 3d pads to

my first stamped image.

I added a sprinkling of sequins and some Diamond dust for added sparkle and job done.

I kept this card more CAS and simple. The image is so beautiful I think it suited that  style best.

I simply printed my digital image straight to my card ,then added my sentiment.

I coloured my image using the same paints as before but colouring the flower very lightly this time.

I used a limited colour range to keep the beauty of the lovely flower.
