The Flower Challenge #31 'Sketch'

Hi there friends, I am back with another DT card for 'The Flower Challenge'. This month we want you to use a sketch. I will leave the sketch and cue card below my card as usual.

March was a very busy month for us and we were so happy to see so many of you taking part in our challenge last month. I hope you will join us again this time too, see my lovely team mates cards there also, such beautiful cards.

Anyway here is my card, I hope it inspires you all. I decided to try more alcohol inking again, just loving the pretty shades of blue/purple. I kept the flowers white for contrast.
Enjoy your week whatever you have planned ;)

A big welcome to my latest followers too, thanks for choosing to follow me ;)

ps. Oops while writing this post my smoke alarm went off lol. It seems I had put some veg on my hob to cook and forgotten to turn it down. Yes the pan was black (update!..now clean after soaking in biological washing powder, ...handy tip) and so was most of the veg.

Oh dear!...not the first time that has happened either I might add....(insert red face here) I usually manage to save the food though....ahem not this time alas. Lesson learned....don't write your blog post when cooking! So glad we have smoke alarms and at least I know they work too ;)

Alcohol inking, CAS

Smooth White card
Glossy Photo card
AltENew Adore You stamps & dies
TH Alcohol inks
Versafine Onyx Black ink

I used the alcohol inks on some glossy photo paper (using the non shiny side...which works best I find). Once I had made my background, I cut two panels from it.

After attaching the first strip to my card base I raised the last one up slightly before adding it to my card base.

I stamped my flowers and added them to my card using  3d pads on the largest flower for interest. I decided not to colour them to keep a more 'clean' look to my card.

Please add our cue card below when entering our challenge.
You have until the 25th April to join in.

Such pretty colours of alcohol inks and love how you left the flowers un-coloured. Great take on the sketch and such a beautiful card. Thank you for the reminder about blogging and cooking at the same time! x

That's a great sketch for using our AI backgrounds, Vee! I love the gorgeous colors on yours and how you kept the flowers black and white! And I'm so glad you have smoke alarms! Hugs, Dee

so lovely Viv, I started making a card with some blue AI yupo but didn't like the way mine looked, you did a great job with yours.

Vivien, I love the gorgeous colors you got from your alcohol inks, those panels are just the perfect background for your sweet flowers, I also like that you left them white, they really pop against the amazing blue of the panels.
Beautiful card, my friend.

What a beautiful and CAS way to use the flowers in black&white; gives the card a CAS-feel! Enjoy the weekend!

Your alcohol panels are gorgeous, Viv. Leaving the flowers uncolored makes them stand out more and also lets that lovely blue shine.
