Purple butterfly card
Hi everyone, I hope you are all well today. This is my very first
Guest DT post for 'The Craft Barn'. I was so thrilled to be asked
as you can imagine :) The theme this week is 'Upcycle week' so I
decided to upcycle a lemonade can. Not done much of this but I
quite like the idea of it now.Anyway come and look what I made....
Card Recipe
First I made a 144 mm card base and used it tent fold style.
I used an old lemonade can , I cut the top and bottom part off,
then cut the cylinder in half using scissors.
I punched three butterflies
from the metal,
then ran those through an embossing folder for
texture.
Using some TH alcohol ink in purple, I dabbed some
onto the butterflies. I used a heat gun to set the colour.
Then I used three Promarkers to add colour to each butterfly
& heat set those also. I used a dark blue Promarker to colour the
separate body and feelers. I heat set these again and then glued
these onto the main butterflies. I printed a sentiment and glued it
onto the card, after first distressing it with some TH purple ink.
I cut two more strips of white card & used 3d pads to raise it
above the main part of the card either side of the sentiment. I cut
a strip of purple card & added that to the side of the other two strips.
A few clear gems added to the butterflies completes this card.

Great job! I use beer cans to make wall hangings and stuff... does that say something about the differences in our drinking habits???? LOL

And old can?!? My goodness, you're amazing Viv! I can't believe such beautiful butterflies were made using an old can. What a fabulous challenge, and boy did you do a great job meeting it.
