Hi friends, I hope you are keeping well? I have a few bookmark cards to share today. I used one of the new release February digi's from RachelVassDesigns again. This one is called 'Gnome one Like You', I think these cute gnomes are so sweet! See Rachel's Etsy shop to buy anything, link HERE.
I decided to make some tall bookmark cards, I don't think I have seen any like this before but I may be wrong of course lol. The bookmark part can be easily taken off the card as a pressie for the recipient which I like. You just have to untie the ribbon part, I did use three tiny 3d pads behind them but they come off easily anyway....or you can just leave them without.
Anyway I liked them so much I thought I would make them a give away if you buy this Gnome digi set from Rachel's February release called 'Gnome one like you'. I designed five different coloured 'toppers' (see them all below made into cards) you just have to print and cut out and add to a tall card base. I used the same cute gnome as I just loved it, you can colour that too or just leave it black and white.
Here is a quick tutorial of how I made the whole card and bookmark. Only pics and not a video sadly but I am hoping to do video's in future if I ever manage to figure it out lol. So here goes, I hope you like it ;) I used a different ribbon on each card btw. as they will be given individually and not as a set.
Here is what one looks like made into a Bookmark card;)
First for my card base I cut two 8cm strips of card from a piece of A4 card (widthwise). Then one strip of card 19cm x 6 1/2 cm (widthwise again) for the topper piece. If you want the stitched strip I used as my topper... I cut it very slightly larger and then cut it using my Lawn Fawn Slimline stitched die (small one from set). I outlined it using a matching Copic also.
It's up to you which you want to use. Then for my final piece I printed the bookmark topper I designed and coloured my cute gnome to match. So that's 4 pieces you should have now.
Next I made the card base, take one of the two long pieces of card and crease and fold a 1cm piece at the top. Then stick that to the other long piece of card, I used my ATG gun.
Then trim off 1 cm at the bottom to make the card base the same size both back and front.
Then you edge the top stitched piece using a matching Copic/Promaker or use ink. Then I cut two small slits on the topper piece I designed with the gnome to fit your ribbon through. I then cut and threaded my ribbon through the top piece, so it was ready to add and tie.
Before adding it to my card I then wrapped the ribbon around the top piece of my card so it was ready to tie once added. I used 3 tiny 3d pads to stick the bookmark topper I designed on top of all that. I 'dabbed'...(is that a real word to use lol) the 3d pads on my leg so it wasn't as sticky and to make it easy to remove. It still stuck to my card anyway ;)
Once I had added the gnome top piece I was able to tie my ribbon to the card, job done...phew! and now stand back and admire your bookmark card ;)
Here are all of them made into cards, I hope you like them all.
