Hi there friends, no cards to share today but dolls houses and peg dolls instead! My crafty OH found two dolls houses for sale very cheaply (£4) at a newish shop where our local tip is. Always after a good bargain he has been looking for a dolls house for some time after I mentioned it a few times.
He bought the first one here which was in a very sorry state at first. Dirty and damp at the back, it had to be totally repainted, then I printed some wallpaper for it and my OH made a new door for it also. I love it now though, I made a few bits of furniture and carpets too (just to be going on with) using card and printing designs I saw online.
The top bits of furniture came with the second dolls house he bought. Then he copied it all and made a second set for the second dolls house. I got the plastic kitchen bits free with a childs comic.
Then I needed some 'dolls' so I bought some cheap pegs and my OH cut them down and I painted some or made them little outfits too.
Closer peek!
Then he saw this dolls house for sale a few weeks later and it needed no work doing to it all. Except for a good wash...result!
These larger dolls (and other bits)and the other wooden furniture you saw earlier all came with this dolls house. My OH has since replicated the furniture and we have a set for this house now too.
He also made this little wooden vehicle for some to sit it. I decorated it quickly (don't look too closely lol) then added a few more peg dolls I painted also. Not happy with some of my dolls (trial and error), but our young 3 and 4 yr old granddaughters won't be looking that closely I am hoping ;).
Our youngest granddaughter has played with them all now and really loved all the dolls and both houses she said ;)
I want to get another house now if possible then we can give one to each of our granddaughters and keep one at our house for them to play with when they come here too ;).....I was very tempted to play with them all myself too I must admit he he!
Anyway I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the other crafty things my OH and I do together. (See his cottages etc. in an earlier post)...he is making a sweet fairy type castle atm. and also making trees now too...you should see how many examples he made before getting them just right lol! I hope to post more of our crafty makes soon ;)

What a super grandparents you are. Wonderful houses...oh I wish my 2 granddaughters were little, not teenagers. LOL
the dollhouses are so cute! love your fun little peg dolls!
What a wonderful project. I'm a bit partial to dollhouses having such fond memories of making one with my husband over 40 years ago. It has been carted from one end of the country to the other and my daughter still treasures it.
Oh how fun! Love it!
What lucky Granddaughters you have, I'm sure they are thrilled silly with these houses, I would be. FABULOUS work in every little detail.
