It's week 16 over at Less is More and this week the theme is 'butterflies'. Thanks
so much C&M for an easy one this week (let's hope this is a trend......I very much
doubt it though!). Chrissie and Mandi do seem to like to keep our grey matter
working overtime mostly.Anyway here is my first effort this week(and yes they may
be more!).
Recipe
Square cardstock, I cut a Marianne Creatable butterfly ( took about 16 attempts),
rapidly going off it now....Couldn't turn it round for various reasons, used shims,
got there in the end but almost lost the will to live in the process. Then I used the
card with the butterfly shape cut out and applied Ranger Distress inks (Worn Lipstick,
Broken China & Dusty Concord at random. I used a tapestry stamp inked in black
for a background on the square card to add interest then 3d'd the card with the
cutout butterfly on top. Then the cut out butterfly was placed over the cut out
and glamour dusted.Looks sparkly but hard to see here, also hard to get a
good photo of the fancy butterfly without it looking crooked! The colour looks
very vibrant irl, not pastel like my usual cards so I am trying something different
anyway:O)

Do you mean the die kept moving Viv?
If you did you need to buy a sheet of magnet, it holds the dies a treat! Look on Ebay, they are only a few quid.
FABBY butterfly, super colours
Thanks so much

No Mandi, it wouldn't cut through! I used various shims ( was very tight) but wouldn't cut properly. Would normally turn it round each time but I had it in the right position by then and might have cut it wrong, besides it was firmy welded to my b plate also by then lol.Viv
Well all that hard work certainly paid off, this is a fabulous card. Love those vivid colours too.

Funnily enough one of my pals couldn't cut that die using a big shot but it went through a cuttlebug just fine - weird huh?

Gorgeous, vibrant and dramatic card - fabulous! Well worth the struggle with the die! I have trouble with the Marianne dies sometimes but they are gorgeous designs. Giving the die a quarter turn after the first cut and then cutting again works for me.
This is Gorgeous Viv love the colours.. Chris xx
