The Flower Challenge #31 'Sketch'

Hi there friends, I am back with another DT card for 'The Flower Challenge'. This month we want you to use a sketch. I will leave the sketch and cue card below my card as usual.

March was a very busy month for us and we were so happy to see so many of you taking part in our challenge last month. I hope you will join us again this time too, see my lovely team mates cards there also, such beautiful cards.

Anyway here is my card, I hope it inspires you all. I decided to try more alcohol inking again, just loving the pretty shades of blue/purple. I kept the flowers white for contrast.
Enjoy your week whatever you have planned ;)

A big welcome to my latest followers too, thanks for choosing to follow me ;)

ps. Oops while writing this post my smoke alarm went off lol. It seems I had put some veg on my hob to cook and forgotten to turn it down. Yes the pan was black (update!..now clean after soaking in biological washing powder, ...handy tip) and so was most of the veg.

Oh dear!...not the first time that has happened either I might add....(insert red face here) I usually manage to save the food though....ahem not this time alas. Lesson learned....don't write your blog post when cooking! So glad we have smoke alarms and at least I know they work too ;)

I used the alcohol inks on some glossy photo paper (using the non shiny side...which works best I find). Once I had made my background, I cut two panels from it.

After attaching the first strip to my card base I raised the last one up slightly before adding it to my card base.

I stamped my flowers and added them to my card using  3d pads on the largest flower for interest. I decided not to colour them to keep a more 'clean' look to my card.

Please add our cue card below when entering our challenge.
You have until the 25th April to join in.

Hi there friends, I am back with another card for the 'Less is More' challenge once more. It's a lucky dip and  'Shine a  light' this time. Hmm not an easy one maybe, I decided to use this cute bunny stamp I just aquired. Going for 'moonlight' as my theme, I love this sweet bunny and I hope you do too ;)

Toad-ally Awesome card

Hi there friends, I am back with my usual card for the 'Less is More' challenge again. This time it's a recipe and 'Take 3',.... e.g. take 3 words or 3 images or 3 colours, or 3 patterns (something where you have 3 of an item).

I decided to use this cute frog, my three things are.... the frog, the hearts and the sentiment, or the 3 hearts or the 3 colours ...green, pink and black ( if you are calling black a colour which I am lol). Anyway lots of three's there I think!

Wow......shock horror!...no flowers and no water colouring either...must be a first from me for a while lol.

It's very very windy here this weekend but no rain today for a change, hope you have good weather wherever in the world you are.Of course, enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned.

I am being treated to lunch in a very old pub I just love tomorrow for an early Mother's Day treat ;) I am baking again today too, as we speak I have some lemon, raspberry and white chocolate muffins in my oven. I am hoping not to set the smoke alarm off this time though!.....baking and writing blog posts at the same time don't go well together I am finding ;)

Anyway come and have a peek at my card and I hope my cute frog jumping for joy makes you smile too.....

Libra card and a digital painting.

Hi there, I am back with another quick card for the 'Less is More' challenge again. It's 'Horoscopes' as a theme this time. I made two digital cards already but wanted to try another one using watercolour this time. Also I have a little story to share...(sorry for the long post) but just skip that bit and see my card if you like ;)

I don't have any horoscope stamps so I decided to do a bit of hand drawing. I used my quickie glue pen to draw a Libra star sign then I quickly embossed it in white. I did the sentiment the same way and added matching ink around it. A bit of water colouring, flicking of paint and a few added stars and my card was complete ;)

Wow it's Thursday already, the week is going so quickly!

(Skip this bit if you just want to see my card)

ps. I just wanted to share something I bought  and something I designed  to go with it recently. I have been in love with this Bluebellgray bedding for over a year now! I often just gaze at it...well it does have flowers...and you know me!

Anyway to cut a long story short I noticed it was in a sale...I never see it in a sale!! (not much off but it helped).

I bought the duvet cover and three pillowslips...gulps at price! (we have a superking size bed too so that didn't help with the cost lol). I really wanted a large matching picture for our room but couldn't find any (it would be far too expensive even if I did to be honest! ). So I devised a cunning plan ;)

I got an artist to paint me some similar matching watercolour flowers then digitize them. I then designed myself a picture using the digital flowers and had it printed onto a large canvas. I designed several and showed them all to my OH for his approval first. I even added a little bird with a small bud in it's mouth and another one trying to not look impressed lol.

I also had two matching silky cushions printed with the same design. I was so happy when they all arrived and I added them to our bedroom. It's like lying in a flower garden now he he!...hmm now if only I could have curtains printed to match too. Pic below my card if you are nosey!

LIM Horoscopes cards

Hi there friends, I hope your weekend is going well so far? Yikes it's March already...how did that happen..and so fast too!

I am here with my usual card for the 'Less is More' challenge again ...in fact I made two. The theme this time is 'Horoscopes', I don't have any suitable stamps for that but I do have some digi images so I went with that.

I used a lion (thinking Leo) and a crab (thinking Cancer), so that is my link to the horoscopes theme.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned ;)

Hello Lovely card

Hi there friends, hope your weekend is going well so far? I have been busy cooking mostly today (making a vegetarian haggis lol and lemon butterfly cakes) ...yes a strange combo I know! pics at the bottom if you are nosey.

Anyway after all that I managed to make a quick card for the 'Less is More' challenge once again. This time they want us to 'Focus on the sentiment'. I did a spot of watercolouring then added my sentiment, a simple card I know...but it does fit the bill. I may make another.....

Bought new fabulous bedding btw. and I have designed stuff to go with it too...long story ...but more about that soon!

Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned ;)

Vegetarian Haggis...it's unbaked here....sorry not a great pic! (an experimental recipe...will report back) ...and yes having neeps and tatties with it...and even maybe a dram of whisky!  ...I know it's past Burns night...just fancied trying it.

Boring fact......Robbie Burns is mentioned in our family tree, way back on my husbands side. His wife Jean Armour Paton was either a sister or a cousin of  Helen who is in our tree. Maybe that explains why my OH was so good at writing poetry in his past lol.

Hi there friends, I am back with another card for the 'Less is More' challenge once again. It's a colour challenge this time and 'Navy & Yellow'. I think that's such a lovely colour combo, not used it before I think ;)

I made a quick header to match too lol, .....just there for a while, it will go soon so don't hold your breath. I have another one planned to match my next card for The Flower Challenge ;)

Anyway I won't ramble on this time lol, come and see my card. Enjoy your weekend too whatever you have planned ;)

LIM Sketch 25 card

Hi there friends, I am back with another card for the 'Less is More' challenge again today. It's a sketch this time, I pondered a while then thought about doing an ombre background. Then I spied this digipaper I have had for ages now and that was kinda ombre looking so I decided to use that as my background.

I cut my top panel to resemble the sketch and added that then used a sentiment die I have had looking at me for a while now. I am trying not to buy as much craft stuff this year as I have so much unused stuff it's getting embarrassing now. Also we are saving up for a new kitchen so I am trying to be more frugal lol.

I am doing very well as I haven't bought a single craft item yet this year....(it's a record for me to last this long), it may change soon though so watch this space ;) Anyway come and take a closer look at my card. Enjoy your week whatever you have planned too ;)

More 'LIM' GD cards

Hi there friends, I am back to share more cards for the 'Less is More' challenge again. Their theme is 'Water' (in any of it's forms, snow, ice, mist etc.) and I am lucky to be their Guest Designer this time too.

My first two cards were very similar and I used raindrops as my theme. This time I am going with 'sea' and 'snow' for my last two cards. Hope you will try and join in with this challenge, some lovely cards in the gallery already and beautiful examples made by the talented  DT there too.

Anyway here are my cards, so come and have a quick nosey. Apologies for my lack of commenting recently but I have had more stomach problems lately. Also computer problems which isn't helping either lol. I seem to be ok now though so will be visiting you all very soon ;)

So sorry 'LIM' are losing Trina  as their team member but wish her well and would also like to welcome Kylie Michelle and Stephanie. Such a great addition to their team.

Of course  as always ...enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned ;)
