Love Grows here card

Hi there friends, sorry I have been missing for a while! I have just caught up on my commenting today at last. We went for a little holiday to the Lake District last week, it was my OH's 70th birthday and we celebrated with family and friends. More celebrations to come yet too...lucky OH eh :)

We managed to get together with 17 of our very oldest friends we haven't seen for ages and it was fabulous ! the weather was glorious too so we had a great time. We stayed with relatives at a lovely hotel in the Lake District.
Anyway that's why I have been absent, I will post some pics of the scenery in a separate post (I realised there were so many lol) if you are nosey. If you haven't been there before it's well worth a visit! We both come from near there originally so visit it often but we still just love it.

So much to catch up on now...and we are trying to design our new kitchen too...well I am lol. I have been like a whirling dervish since we got back. I did all the Summer bedding planting today, did some baking (coconut, banana, choc chip, walnut muffins...yum!) and have now cleaned most of the house and caught up with piles of washing/ironing....so much to do yet still...yikes!

Right ...sorry about all the rambling !...here is my card for the latest 'Less is More' challenge which is 'CAS Embossing' this time, come and have a quick peek ;)

The Flower Challenge #32 Reminder

Hi there friends, I am back with my DT reminder card for 'The Flower Challenge' . Our theme this time is 'Embossing Heat/Dry'. I went with heat and also some dry embossing this time.

There is a PRIZE to be won this month too, the fabulous Altenew who make such gorgeous flower stamps are sponsoring us. See our blog for all details.

Do check our rules too as we have quite a few not following them. Too many cards entered on thier own blog is the most common one!....should be only 6 as well as our own. You will miss out on a prize this time otherwise.

Also we have our February winner as Guest Designer this month too.

Do check out Enna's card and also my lovely teamies cards on our blog too. Of course our gallery has some amazing cards also ;)

A big welcome to Kate for being my latest follower too, welcome aboard and thanks for following me too ;)

Okay here is my card, I was in a lilac mood this time ..... grab a cuppa and come and come and have a quick browse ;)

I made my top fold card base, then I took a spare piece of card and embossed my background. I stamped and embossed my flowers then water coloured them all.

I stamped my sentiment on a small piece of card and attached it all to my card base. A sprinkling of diamond dust completed my card. I love all the sparkle that gives, so hard to photograph here though.

The Flower Challenge #32 'Embossing Heat/Dry'

Hi there friends, I am here with more DT cards for 'The Flower Challenge'. This month our theme is 'Embossing Heat/Dry', so many possibilities I think.

We have a lovely Guest Designer this month too,  our winner for February Enna, do check out her card on our blog and others she has on Instagram.

I went with heat embossing on my two cards, a rich purple and grey colour combo on my first one, I love this gorgeous Wallpaper Art flower stamp. For my second card I chose this lovely Engagement Wishes stamp I haven't used yet. Just love the Rose Gold E/P from Altenew too so decided to use that on my second card also.

We are being sponsored by Altenew this month and there is a PRIZE for our winner. See our blog for all details. I used Altenew stamps on both of my cards also. More water colouring again from me lol, what can I say...... I just love water colour!

Anyway come and see my cards...and enjoy your week whatever you have planned ;)...oh and thanks for the visit too !

I made my top fold A6 card base then stamped and heat embossed my two flowers and leaves.I used a mask for my flowers before adding the leaves.

Then I used water colours on my flowers and leaves and a weaker colour wash all around my images. I was brave and sprinkled a few dots of the same colours over my images. Still a bit nervous of doing that but getting braver now.

I stamped a sentiment on a spare bit of card after water colouring the background to match my flowers. A few sequins and a black gem were added and my card was complete.

I stamped my flower image and also my leaves using a mask on the first flower I stamped. Then I using clear embossing ink then heat embossed using my Rose Gold ink.

I used my distress inks to colour my images and then added a similar colour around them all. After stamping and attaching my sentiment I added a few flicks of the same colour. A few sequins, a touch of black pen for the stamens and my card was finished.

Bud flower card

Hi there friends, I am back with my usual card for the 'Less is More' challenge again. This time it's
'Buds or Petals' and the dreaded 'one layer' card too.

I am still not keen on one layer cards, still I had a go and despite all my early panicking managed to come up with this card. It is CAS anyway at least ;) I glittered the little heart btw. and added some kisses using a black pen.

Enjoy your week whatever you have planned, we are still trying to get a design for our new kitchen sorted....so much to dooooo yet ;)

The Flower Challenge #31 Reminder

Hi there, just back with my reminder DT card again for 'The Flower Challenge' today. If you don't remember we have a sketch for you to follow this month. See it below my card.

We hope you will try and join in, it's easier than it looks really it is! just use two odd strips of card you have hanging about.....and three flowers and that's it !

I decided to use blue and red for a change...not my usual combination but we have to get out of our comfort zone sometimes don't we ;)

Ok draw up a chair and come and see my card.....and thanks for the visit and any comments you may leave too ;)

I decided to use a few different colours this time. Quite a contrast I think blues, turquoises and reds  but I do like it. I made my background like last time dropping various colours onto my photo paper along with my blending solution.

Once dried I cut my two panels like last time  and attached them both to my card base. I stamped and fussy cut my flowers then coloured them using my zig pens. I used 3d pads to raise them up a bit when attaching them to my card base.

The Flower Challenge #31 'Sketch'

Hi there friends, I am back with another DT card for 'The Flower Challenge'. This month we want you to use a sketch. I will leave the sketch and cue card below my card as usual.

March was a very busy month for us and we were so happy to see so many of you taking part in our challenge last month. I hope you will join us again this time too, see my lovely team mates cards there also, such beautiful cards.

Anyway here is my card, I hope it inspires you all. I decided to try more alcohol inking again, just loving the pretty shades of blue/purple. I kept the flowers white for contrast.
Enjoy your week whatever you have planned ;)

A big welcome to my latest followers too, thanks for choosing to follow me ;)

ps. Oops while writing this post my smoke alarm went off lol. It seems I had put some veg on my hob to cook and forgotten to turn it down. Yes the pan was black (update!..now clean after soaking in biological washing powder, ...handy tip) and so was most of the veg.

Oh dear!...not the first time that has happened either I might add....(insert red face here) I usually manage to save the food though....ahem not this time alas. Lesson learned....don't write your blog post when cooking! So glad we have smoke alarms and at least I know they work too ;)

I used the alcohol inks on some glossy photo paper (using the non shiny side...which works best I find). Once I had made my background, I cut two panels from it.

After attaching the first strip to my card base I raised the last one up slightly before adding it to my card base.

I stamped my flowers and added them to my card using  3d pads on the largest flower for interest. I decided not to colour them to keep a more 'clean' look to my card.

Please add our cue card below when entering our challenge.
You have until the 25th April to join in.

Toad-ally Awesome card

Hi there friends, I am back with my usual card for the 'Less is More' challenge again. This time it's a recipe and 'Take 3',.... e.g. take 3 words or 3 images or 3 colours, or 3 patterns (something where you have 3 of an item).

I decided to use this cute frog, my three things are.... the frog, the hearts and the sentiment, or the 3 hearts or the 3 colours ...green, pink and black ( if you are calling black a colour which I am lol). Anyway lots of three's there I think!

Wow......shock horror!...no flowers and no water colouring either...must be a first from me for a while lol.

It's very very windy here this weekend but no rain today for a change, hope you have good weather wherever in the world you are.Of course, enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned.

I am being treated to lunch in a very old pub I just love tomorrow for an early Mother's Day treat ;) I am baking again today too, as we speak I have some lemon, raspberry and white chocolate muffins in my oven. I am hoping not to set the smoke alarm off this time though!.....baking and writing blog posts at the same time don't go well together I am finding ;)

Anyway come and have a peek at my card and I hope my cute frog jumping for joy makes you smile too.....
