Hi bloggers, just a quick card today. Had no 'puter for most of today
as men were chopping down a tree next door and had to turn the
electric off.It has been an eye sore for years now, very tall and sooo
many cables in amongt it. We were always worried it might pull
down our mains cable. It had been trimmed a while ago but not
at the top where the problem was.Our neighbours will be so
relieved the elec people decided to take it down after two
years of them asking. Sorry rambling again drat it ! Anyway here
is my second effort for 'Less is More', a colour challenge and...
LIME & BLACK
ps.I had almost finished making this card but decided on a change of
sentiment at the last minute. One of my crafting friends died suddenly
last week ( who I have never met) but will be so missed by the forum
we both belonged too.Isn't it strange how you can be so sad and miss
someone so much, even when you never met them irl. She always left
such lovely comments on my cards and she will be really missed by us
all.I think of you all as good friends even though we will probably
never meet . Crafters/bloggers/LIMettes are such lovely/ sweet/friendly
people, know that you all have a special place in my heart. This card
is dedicated to Sandra, one very lovely lady.I hope to send it to her
daughter ( also a fellow card maker) & family.
It's a colour challenge this week over at 'Less is More'
which this time is........
LIME & BLACK
Not used these colours before, although strangely
enough I had just made a card using....lime but
with lilac and not black.Anyway here's what I
came up with. Come and have a closer look !
ps. I have joined Bloglovin btw. ( see link in sidebar
at top). Seeing as most of my blogging friends have
decided to join, I thought I might as well give it a go.
I must say I am liking it too. Feel free to add me to
your list if you have joined also, I would hate to lose
you all. There is a link to my Pinterest stuff too now
if you are interested.Take care everyone!

'Less is More' #114 Colour ( Lime & Black)
Hi everyone, I hope you are all well today. This is my very first
Guest DT post for 'The Craft Barn'. I was so thrilled to be asked
as you can imagine :) The theme this week is 'Upcycle week' so I
decided to upcycle a lemonade can. Not done much of this but I
quite like the idea of it now.Anyway come and look what I made....
Card Recipe
First I made a 144 mm card base and used it tent fold style.
I used an old lemonade can , I cut the top and bottom part off,
then cut the cylinder in half using scissors.
I punched three butterflies
from the metal,
then ran those through an embossing folder for
texture.
Using some TH alcohol ink in purple, I dabbed some
onto the butterflies. I used a heat gun to set the colour.
Then I used three Promarkers to add colour to each butterfly
& heat set those also. I used a dark blue Promarker to colour the
separate body and feelers. I heat set these again and then glued
these onto the main butterflies. I printed a sentiment and glued it
onto the card, after first distressing it with some TH purple ink.
I cut two more strips of white card & used 3d pads to raise it
above the main part of the card either side of the sentiment. I cut
a strip of purple card & added that to the side of the other two strips.
A few clear gems added to the butterflies completes this card.
