Thinking of You Green Ombre card

Just a quick post for a change. I made this card
for a dear friend, then disaster struck! I had just
finished photographing it and I saw a watermark
had suddenly appeared at the very edge half
way down :(  You can't see it here....it happened
a couple of minutes later.

I think it was the white tak stuff I used to hold
the card closed whilst taking a photo. Never had
that happen before. Anyway because of where it
was I was unable to hide it.

I was most annoyed as I had taken so much
care over making it (sob sob). Never mind
I made another one which was much simpler
and more my style. I will show you that
another time.

Happy crafting my lovely friends ;)

Silver Hello card

Good afternoon friends, and a lovely warm
sunny day it is here I am pleased to say.
Hope it's as good wherever you are too !

I have my usual 'Less is More' card to
share with you today. So busy yesterday
with the 'littlies' so no time to make it until
now, more about that later though.

It's a 'recipe' this week over at LIM
and...............

SOMETHING SHINY

This is what I came up after a bit of
thought.I layered some vellum after a bit of
stamping. Soft shades of blue/green,
a touch of silver for the 'something
shiny' & a few clear sparkly sequins.

Anyway come and have a closer look......
The usual ps. bit is below my card today
as it goes on forever lol. Ok to just see
 my card instead ;)

ps. I decided to do a 'dinosaur' day for
our grandchildren yesterday ;) Any
excuse really lol !

I printed out lots of dinosaur pictures/
games, bought loads of dinosaurs
(rubber or plastic). Cut out dinosaur 'feet'
and left a trail all through the house.

They each had a dinosaur name,
Charliesaurus, Alexanderapter and Lanatops.
and crocodile 'hats' from the good old £ shop.

The children loved it, I renamed their
play tent to 'Dino Den' ....although Charlie
said it was a pirate tent still after the
last pirate day ;)

I left a trail of dinosaur cards for a garden
treasure type hunt which went down very
well with them. Each had their own initial & a
number on the back and they had to bring it to
daddy to check of a list.

The prize was a dinosaur each, ( wrapped in
layers of newspaper so it resembled a
large egg). Charlie was disappointed it
 wasn't chocolate though ;)

After a few more dinosaur memory games
they had 'monster' stilt feet to walk in. Then
their most loved game the 'dinosaur obstacle
 course'.

They had to pick up a small coloured ball
(dinosaur egg) cross a chair, walk on
'dinosaur' eggs ( cut out of card) without
 touching the carpet.

Then over a bench and through the 3 part
tunnels ( bought for last 'do'...so popular
 with them that!).

The naughty daddies and granddad tried to
catch them as they went through the tunnels
and pretended to be dinosaurs lol.

Then they had to deposit their 'egg' into a
large bowl and start all over again. It proved
so popular with them they used the 8 'eggs',
they I quickly replaced them again and again
so the game could continue lol.

Those boys move sooooo fast now,so much
laughing.... it was  all a blur. I think I lost
several lbs in the process and it tired the
 boys out.....for a while too ;)

They each got a kinder egg at the end, so
Charlie was very happy. It was also a celebration
for our eldest son's birthday (2 days earlier) so
Charlie loved helping put candles on the cake.

He helped daddy to blow them out too ;)
Cake is Charlie's passion so he had a piece too
along wth Alexander and Lana....silence prevailed.

I won't mention the 'bones' I made and cooked
using a salt dough recipe. I hid them in damp sand
for a fossil dig.

Disaster!!!! Alexander flicked sand in his eye and
Charlie put sand everywhere. We gave up after that.....
I found out later all the hard 'bones' had gone soggy
in the sand overnight so I threw them away!

Ooh sorry this goes on forever.......well done if
you read it all lol. I am already planning a
'jungle' day next. With vines and big leaves and
monkeys hanging from them.

Yes I am mad!!!
What would I do without grandchildren now??

Technology cards

Good afternoon friends, the sun is shining
and it's a lovely warm day here today.
I hope you all have good weather too.

I have another 'Less is More' card to
share with you today.......infact I have
 three !!!

The theme this week is.........

 Technology

I thought this would prove to be a
very difficult type of card to make
but infact it was very easy.

Don't you just love  it when
that happens ;) I used some Pink
Petticoat digi papers, a new set of
dies (Die-Namics) I have just aquired
and a little inspiration from the web.

So technology helped me make these
if you think about it ! Anyway come
and have a closer look.

Enjoy your weekend whatever
 you have planned ;)

Blue easel card and some digi pages

Good afternoon friends, a damp day here
today, hope it's nicer where you are!

I have been meaning to design my
own digi type easel card for a while
now.

I have a few bought ones but
really wanted to start from scratch and
make my own using punches, shading etc.

This is just a trial one, I will personalize
them once I know who they are for later.

The worst bit (once I had figured out how
to design it) was cutting it all out.
Don't look too closely please lol ;)

Also I must thank Val for tips on
making this type of card, thank you
Val ;)

I have added a couple of my latest digi
pages too if you want a peek. I seem
to be really into making digi things atm.

I will be back soon with another 'LIM'
card as usual though.

ps. I seem to be having a smashing time
this week lol ! The front door fell off
my tumble drier and smashed the glass
(it was quite old). I dropped two small
 side plates and broke them.

Then I sat on a garden bench yesterday
and I heard a creak....you guessed it...it broke.
After my poor OH falling off a ladder last week,
we have had several mishaps this week too lol.

happy birthday

Green and Gold Crazy Bird

Good morning friends/playmates, hope you all
have the glorious sun we have today. A real
Summer's day here, hope it lasts a while.

I have my 3rd and last 'Less is More' card for
this week to show you today. The colour theme
is 'Green and Gold'. This is what I came up
with. Come and have a closer peek ;)

Just loving these Crazy Bird stamps, they make
me smile everytime I look at them. This one
certainly looked  as if  it was sorry to me lol,
so I went with a 'Sorry' sentiment.

ps. Bit of drama here yesterday, my poor OH fell
of a ladder.....don't ask, it's complicated lol !
He gashed his leg rather badly so a quick trip to
 A&E.

He had  several stitches etc. and I even watched
them do it,..... fascinating ...bit gory too though.
Such skillful nurses/Dr's they were  fantastic!!!

Also I seem to have  overcome  my squeamish
side too....who knew! Glad to report he is much
better today and mending nicely :)

Green Feathers and a touch of gold

Good afternoon friends, just popping by to
show you another 'Less is More' card.

I used some distress inks and a few drops
 of gold on the feathers.

I stamped the sentiment and used
a touch of gold gilding paste on the edge.
The edge looks very golden irl, a tad darker
here though as usual. I pinched the gilding
paste from  my OH lol.

He has so many yummy things in his garage/
workshop as he makes a lot of things out of
wood. I may be checking out his other supplies
there now ;)

Green and Gold Joy card

Good afternoon friends, I hope your weekend is
going well so far ;)

I have another 'Less is More' card to share with
you again. It's a colour theme this week and...

Green and Gold

I pondered for a while (as you do) then decided
to go with this idea. A bit of masking,
blending and stamping. Hope you can see
 the tree!

I finished it off by die-cutting this Joy
sentiment and colouring  it with a yummy
gold ink I have. I looked at all my gold card
but it was too harsh a gold colour.

I added a few dewdrops to finish it off. I
wanted a gold one but didn't have one.

I dabbed a bit of gold ink on my card
and popped the clear dewdrop on top,
yeaaah....result!

Enjoy your weekend whatever you have
planned. We are babysitting our latest
granddaughter again......cuddles will be
compulsory I am thinking he he ;)
