Week 21 ( LIM challenge.)

Hi again, I am back from my little holiday in Cornwall. We had a
lovely time with my youngest son and his wife, good weather too.
Will post a few pics soon.
Right back to this weeks 'Less is More' challenge .This week it's a
sketch. I made a very quick card, been so busy sorting out my
wardrobe/shoes /two rooms ready for a house move next year....all
with my lovely daughter's help, 20 large bin bags later arggghhh!
Anyway I made some flowers in lilac and purples from a tutorial I saw
somewhere while blog hopping!I used the cut out bits for a backing and
white square card as usual.I sprayed glimmer mist on the flowers (Glacier)
by Tattered Angels.Hope you like it, very last minute this week for
various reasons.( Sorry about the rubbish photo too).

Closeup of flower.

Here is a quick card for last week's 'Less is More' challenge, I know it's too late to enter now but
I didn't want to miss a week lol !!!! The theme was monogram btw.

Week 19 LIM (card 2)

Here is my second card for this week's
'Less is More' challenge.'One layer card'
again and  'in the frame' is the theme.I always
mean just to make the one card..........but
another always comes along anyway it seems!
We are having a little break away with my
son and his lovely wife from next Sat
( Cornwall) for a week.Renting a lovely
cottage, hope it's sunny.Early celebration for
my 60th and both their 30th birthday's
( all in Aug) & our Ruby wedding
which was in Feb lol.
No internet ...so I won't be making a
card, how will I cope??? Anyway  back to my
second card..............I used my new nesty
as a frame and chalked inside . I stamped a tree
from a set ( details on an earlier card),using
tuxedo black. Then I drew a few birds in the
background using a fineliner pen, & also a little
base for the tree too.Simples!
ps. I may have done fewer birds but I had to cover up
a few ....ahem......little marks!
I have quite a nice little collection of these LIM cards now,
so thanks C&M for starting us on this road. See my cute bear
above for a little thankyou kiss :O) I still love making these
simple cards :O)

Week 19 LIM card

This week over at  'Less is More' it's
the 'one layer card' again with a theme of
'in the frame'. Made this card quite quickly
really( which is worrying) lol. Simple tent
fold square card as usual, I printed a daisy
image ( freebie from Doodle pantry). Then
I added some computerized text ( Cool
dots) font, made into a circle.I used my
nesties to emboss around the text, then
chalked the daisy and around the wording
using my nesty as a guide again.I added
some glamour dust as usual lol. Quite a
simple card with soft colours, hope you
like it. Have a lovely weekend everyone
:O) Viv xx

Week 18 LIM ( card 4)

Just made this quick card ..........my 4th this week for 'Less is More'
lol. Can't believe I am making yet another one this week!!!!
I did a very quick tutorial on how I distress ink my recent cards,
( see previous post) & decided to make a finished card......even
though the matt I made didn't look that brilliant! Am quite pleased
with how it turned out in the end, to think I almost binned it too.
Anyway I made the matt as in earlier post using TH broken china
distress ink. Then I used my (violets) Hampton arts stamp using
white colour box ink and embossed using sea foam white powder.
Then I used my Prisma pencils for a change ( electric blue) to
colour the flowers a deeper shade of blue. I added glamour
dust to the flowers and punched a butterfly (again) using that
same piece of matt I distressed earlier.I edged the butterfly with
distress ink & added a few pearls also coloured to match with
Copics .I added another matt of white card and distressed the
edges with same ink (broken china). I cut the main card ( blue
ordinary cheap card I had) with my nesties. I added the various
matts, 3d'd last one & added a piece of matching seam binding.
Hope you like it,..... am loving the blue and the twinkly bits on
the flowers :O) Viv xx
ps. Few more photo's added just for Alina again lol !

Distress ink tutorial

As it seems a few of my fellow LIMettes want to know how I
acheived my distressed ink look on my cards here is a quick
tutorial. It's not MINE  btw I saw it somewhere on my blog hopping
travels, wish I had made a note now, but I hop so much!!!!
Anyway I first dab a chosen distress ink a few times on a clear
stamping block. Then I spray that with water ( not left handed but
had to take a photo at the same time lol.). It seems to 'puddle ' up
when you do this, then I press the block onto a spare bit of card.
So nice to use up all those little bits card we all have left over too!
Then I either wait for that to dry...........or use my heat gun ( gun
mainly as I can't wait) ! Then I either use that piece as a matt on
a card or use my nesties to cut a square etc with it. Hope that explains
a little what I do, not rocket science is it....and it is hit and miss, sometimes
the result is great....sometimes it looks terrible .......today it didn't look that great,
but just try again and keep your fingers crossed. Happy distressing!!!! :O)
Viv xx
ps. Now making a card with this to see what it looks like!....update....made a card
with it....see next post!

Sorry I keep trying to move the photo's around when  posting them but they still have a mind of their own!!!!!

Week 18 LIM (card 3)

Here is my final card for this weeks 'Less is More' challenge.
I chose black and white this time, using TH distress ink again,
(black soot). I spritzed with water again, reminds me a bit of a
dark sky.I cut little squares with my nesties I then overstamped
with black ink and a swirly clear stamp set I have ( no name on
I'm afraid) but there are a few others similar with swirls flowers
and fairies if that's a clue.I used glamour dust on the swirly stamped
parts, then 3d'd the squares onto a black matt then a white matt
which I sponged with the same distress ink again.I added yet
another butterfly punched in black to match the theme & added a
small clear gem too.

I am adding a few different angles of the card as requested by Ulina not that I am good at doing different angles and I do like taking the
photo side on mainly...... but just for you Ulina :O)
Also I would like to welcome all my latest followers, thank you so much
for following...and to the lovely LIMettes and the lovely C& M who
take the trouble to leave so many comments for everyone, all most
appreciated I assure you!! Will stop waffling now.......sorry!!!!

Not good at getting these photo's where I want  them on the page either lol!!!

Week 18 LIM card 2

Here is my second card for this weeks 'Less is More' challenge
( Monochrome).Strange how my background dissappeared
yesterday...now it is back and the annoying 'bandwidth exceeded'
message is gone too...most strange. Anyway I will resize my
photo's and see if that helps, hope you can still see it clearly then.

I made this card the same way I did yesterdays card,
using TH distress inks again. Brushed Corduroy for the first matt
( misted again) then I stamped my swirly heart stamp using sand
beige ink and embossed it  with enchanted gold embossing powder.
I then lightly stamped the L and love part of the sentiment stamp I
used yesterday in the bottom left corner.I popped it up on little
pads then added another matt edged with sand beige ink.I added a
punched butterfly again ( also dabbed with TH brushed Corduroy)
then added a pearl coloured with a Copic ( brick beige).Sentiment
inked with brick beige too.Hope you can make out the swirly heart
in gold, maybe if you peer really close up lol!!
Already planning card number three..................and still not tidied
up in here & have only a few inches to craft in ( slaps own
wrist!!) :O) Have a lovely weekend everyone! Viv xx
ps. I can now edit the placing of the words again...... somewhat.....hallelujah!!!

(Week 18) LIM card 1

This week we have to make a  'Monochrome' card
over at 'Less is More'. I always think of black and white
when I see monochrome but it means we have to use just
one colour.Well various shades of one colour is allowed I
think. Despite not being able to find a space to make a card
( not tidied up since last time I made several cards).Anyway
I had an idea and had to seize the moment before it departed!
I used my TH distress inks( dusty concord) again and used
a misting of water to get a puddled effect. I then stamped
onto the same matt again using a toning ink pad( Heliotrope,
versa color) and  a script Love stamp by( My sentiments exactly).
I matted that onto another matt which I randomly stamped with
heliotrope again around the end in a sponged effect.I punched a
little butterfly, sponged that in same ink and added a tiny pearl ( which
was also coloured with a copic pen), good tip that.Quite pleased
with my first effort this week..............you notice I said 1st......there
may be more as I am liking this technique now:O)
ps. Anyone else have a (bandwidth exceeded) message on their blogs after uploading??
not sure what to do now??.......update, the message is gone now, my background went missing
and someone told me it was probably the people who made it needing more PB space. They
probably sorted that now hence all is normal and the message is gone.......just for your info!

Week 17 LIM ( card 2)

Here is my second card for this weeks LIM challenge at
'Less is More'.
I used TH distress inks, ( faded a bit by misting with water
then dabbing with a tissue)....technical term....not!
Squares cut with nesties, then I stamped some daisies in
white with a tapestry stamp and embossed with seafoam
white. Added a bit of recycled string ( from a wedding
favour jam pot lol). Then punched a butterfly and distress
inked that to match. I added some tiny Papermania
shimmer dots to the butterfly to finish it off. I am off to sit
in the sun for a while now, OH pestering me saying I am
always at my computer lol!.......he doesn't know about my
LIMitous !!!!!
ps. Hmmm ....now I look again I see the flutterby should have
been placed on the pink square or the string on the blue one,
oh well at least we learn by our mistakes.
