LIM (week 12) card 2

Here is my second attempt this week for the 'Less is More' challenge.
Quite pleased with how this turned out, very fiddly doing the 'out of the frame'
part but otherwise quite easy. The Iris image was a free colouring one found
on the internet btw.I coloured it with chalks and coloured pencils then glittered
the flowers with glamour dust ( just can't stop using the stuff).I hesitated about
using some pale green dew drops at the top left part of the green topper, but
left them off as I like 3 and they seemed too much & too large. LIM is my motto
now so think I made the right decision! hmmmm now I am thinking maybe 3 tiny
green gems would be good........will let you decide. A very HAPPY EASTER to
all the LIMettes too...and Lady LIM Chrissie and LIM Diva Mandi also :O)
ps. Forgot to say I also used pale green shimmering chalk to wash over all the
topper at the end, looks nice and shimmery.

(Mandi the gerbera image was one sent to me by a kind friend .)

here is a closeup of the glitter
doesn't show too well in the
main pic.

LIM ( week 12) card 1

It's week 12 now over at 'Less is More' and this
week the challenge is for an 'off centre' card . I
thought the wedding invitations I have just made
for my son just fitted in nicely so here it is.Chosen by
my son and his fiancee from a selection, the theme being
orange or red gerbera's, it's A6 size on linen card as usual.
Hope you like it too:O)

here is the insert too, details obscured for privacy.

LIM week 11 ( card 2)

Here is my second and last effort for this weeks 'Less is More' challenge. You wouldn't believe what a job I had with the top of this card lol.I tried to use my new MS punch on this thinnish card for the top but it got jammed in, so had to resort to punching hearts all along to create this ripped/rippled effect lol.I used my fancy scissors for the other layers( lesson learnt). Then I made another  piece for the bottom and put a strip of acetate between the two.I  used a lovely crab apple blossom image from the very talented Ruth over at ' A passion for stamps'. I coloured it with Copics then I decoupaged the top flower and  glittered it with glamour dust , then stuck it to the acetate. I stamped direct to card for the sentiment at the bottom ( getting more used to doing this now), so I just stamped and prayed lol.Hope you like it, I was quite pleased with this one....nightmare to photograph again but I did my best.
ps. Look at the Tulips on previous page, so breathtaking!!!

Tulips

Here are some photo's of the lovely Tulips we have growing
in the fields nearby atm., aren't they just breathtaking! I had
to climb a large gate to get near them to take these pics, not
easy for me these days lol, but I just had to share them with
you all.
ps.  As I was taking these pics I saw a family ( with cute
baby in tow) of Dutch people ( I think) posing in between
the tulips for a professional photographer .Very apt as they
were Dutch I thought lol.

 Such a vibrant red colour!

 A frenzy of colour here!

The field was huge!

LIM (week 11)

Week 11 now over at 'Less is More'............how did that happen??
I just can't believe how these weeks are flying past! Anyway this week
the challenge is to use ACETATE. ......when I had picked myself up
off the floor in shock lol..........I started thinking about a design using
the dreaded acetate. Took me ages to find it for a start, lots of riffling
through 'stuff '........no need to explain that to fellow crafters I am sure.
Anyway I made my usual 5 1/2" linen card, then cut a section off the top
and trimmed the bottom  . Then I cut a piece of acetate to fit the gap,
lots of umming and ahhing as I became a sticky mess and so did my acetate
as I was using a glue stick for quickness. ( Note to self) do not use a glue stick
next time...use ds tape you stupid woman!  Next I found some really bright shimmery
cardstock which was already ' rippled '.Then decided a butterfly would be a good
subject to cut from it so used my trusty cuttlebug to do the deed. I stamped ( onto
more acetate) and heat embossed  two more tiny butterflies, coloured them with
my Copics and cut them out and stuck them all to the acetate part of the card. Oh
my what a long explanation again.......sorry. Hmmm still not sure I like it , may make
another if I find time, but at least I had a 'go' :O) Good luck everyone, some great
cards already, ......and made so quickly too. Oh and another thing it isn't easy
taking a photo of these acetate cards either lol !!!!!
Thanks to C&M again for another great challenge ,....... although I wasn't thanking you
to start with this morning lol.

LIM (week 10) card 2

Here is my second attempt for this weeks 'Less is More' challenge.
It may be my last for this week as I am busy starting my son's wedding
invitations and sorting wedding 'stuff' now. This idea came into my mind
and I made it very quickly in the end ( how I wish that happened all the time! )
I found a stamped image someone had given me ages ago, scanned it into
the computer then altered the shape of the hearts to elongate them. I then
used computer generated words and made shapes from them like a little branch
with the hearts hanging from them.......well that was my idea anway lol . I added
two gems near the top of the words also. I agree Mandi about the 1st card, I only
added the flowers as an afterthought, they would look better lower down. I did
try some of the flowers at the bottom Chrissie but it looked too much. Thanks for
all the lovely comments again  everyone, you are all too kind :O) So many lovely
cards this week, can't get round to leavng comments for all but I think they
are all fabulous girls.......or fellow LIMettes lol !
I used a little frame my OH made to take a photo with as I couldn't get one which wasn't
squint.......made the mistake of making it side fold and not my usual tent fold card !!!
ps. Oops forgot to say I glittered the top words too with quickie glue pen and glamour dust !

LIM week 10 ( card 1)

Another challenge from 'Less is More' again.
You do get us thinking Mandi and Chrissie!
........and tearing our hair out.......and cause us
much consternation....but we love the challenges
all the same. Thanks so much for thinking
of new things and stretching us every week!
I was determined to just make one card this
week .......alas I am addicted so already working
on card no 2!!! LIMette for sure!!!!
My first card was printed on the computer,
with a quote from Mother Teresa , (Passions Conflict )font.
I then attempted to emboss using my nestie, I say attempt
ahem...( must try harder). Then I used another nestie to chalk
around the edge as a guide . A few punched and chalked flowers
and tiny pearls added....looked a bit bare otherwise!!! Hope you like
the result, I am still deciding!!Have a lovely weekend everyone.
The verse may not be clear it says " Yesterday is gone , Tomorrow has
yet to come, We have only today, Let us begin.

More beach pics!

Lots of broken Paramoudra's!
Paramoudra
Chalk layers with flint in them. They form little caves here too.

Day at the beach!

Such a hot day today here ( 21c ish)! It's only April so most unusual, but very welcome.
After doing some jobs around the house we ( OH and myself) decided to have a picnic at our fav Norfolk beach. Here are some pics for you ! the beach was almost deserted.... as you can see. It is a beach of special scientific interest as many fossils have been found here.A whole skeleton of a wooly Mammoth in 1990, which we were lucky to be shown as it was still being sorted at the time. I found a bone from a (slender horse) in the cliffs a few years ago and donated it to the museum. I was told it was quite unusual being from a 'slender' horse and millions of years old..........I think it was millions ...anyway it was very old & strange looking in a picture I saw if it ! We also see lots of Paramoudra's which are circles of flint with chalk centres, it's believed some sort of sea creature/worm ? lived in these many many years ago.Hope you enjoy the photo's...can't add them all here so will put more on next page!

Less is More challenge (week 9) card 1....'a touch of red'

Another 'Less is More' card challenge again. This week it is  'a touch of red',
I printed some digistampboutique butterfly images and coloured one with red
Luminarte ruby red watercolour  then added copic Ruby over that when it was dry.
It looks rather pink here but it IS red IRL I promise! I coloured some gems to match
and used white gel ink to add their 'feelers' .Then I glitttered the red one with
glamour dust( I love that stuff). I decided on a black card for a change,
then added a white matt and a further black matt before mounting the images , all
popped up on 3d pads ...the layers anyway. Hope you like it...........I may make more
seeing as I am quite addicted to this site now lol !!!!
